PCGS – FUN Luncheon

BillJonesBillJones Posts: 34,879 ✭✭✭✭✭

Has anyone heard if there is going to be a PCGS luncheon at FUN this year? I have not heard anything about it.

Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

I got an invitation. I don't know why because I'm basically a nobody. It must've been a mistake.

Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.

Twenty years on this site. About that long as a customer and a big fan of PCGS but I'm not worthy any longer. My fault. I have not sent anything in for several years.
It's always been fun to catch this lunch and hear what PCGS is up to. I hope there is a video for those that can't join.

Got the invite but after the whole cac legends fiasco opted to decline.

I know Florida is where all the blue-hairs reside and I understand this is the typical clientele but sure would be nice if they would consider moving these bigger shows to nicer places.

    Enjoy the mustard. Happy Holidays.

The whole worlds off its rocker, buy Gold™.

BTW, heard that Seth from Witter will be speaking - would like to see/hear him live!

To “move the big show around the country” you will have to find a fairly small group of people who are willing to put in the long hours to mount a first rate show. Also, if you want to minimize travel problems in early January, you need a warm climate. Finally you need to find a state that is coin convention friendly from the tax perspective. “The blue-hairs” have done well on all of those counts.

    FUN = Florida United Numismatists
Are you suggesting the Florida coin club should move their show out of state? There's a reason it is IMHO the best show in the country. That is all the support they have from their club members. Perhaps you would like to pay the travel expenses for all their volunteers so they can have it in another state!

Got the invitation and me and my wife will be attending! Got to attend my first one last year and it was very worthwhile.

As for the "nicer places" posting - garbage in, garbage out. Pitiful.

I’ll be attending the lunch, and hope to meet many of you there, or on the bourse. I’ll be wearing a money green t-shirt from the BEP with a dollar bill on the front. Introduce yourselves!

A day without fine wine and working on your coin collection is like a day without sunshine!!!

I'm on the wait list too. Unfortunately I don't have my wardrobe planned out that far in advance.
