Look how long our gold has been overseas.

Now, either A: they've held it a LONG time
or B: When American dupes actually turned in their gold they had a lot of old coins to turn in.

Interesting, I have never seen that label before. Is it new or am I seeing it for the first time?
There have been stories on this board of large amounts of gold coins returning to the US from Europe. The coin shown may have been a part of a promotion aimed at investors rather then pure gold collectors. I've never seen that label before, either.
Nice!

OK. color me Mr. Skeptic parade rainer on, etc.
What documentation surrounds this coin? There has been a lot of back and forth across the pond of coins. Except for Switzerland, I am leery of any "bank gold" from any other European Country, as the Nazis did not leave stuff just laying about.
Even for the Swiss, what would prevent bagging up some doggy old gold, flying it across the pond, and claiming Bank Crisis, Hoard, Secret Stash, on the coins that a week ago were sitting in Topeka Kansas.
I've bought large deals of US gold in other European countries
besides Switzerland, back in the 70's, 80's, and 90's.
France is one obvious country (not just Paris), and there
are others that had large accumulations of US gold back then.

I remember a true story of a bank in France that had a "Stack" of Fifty Dollar gold pieces and they all turned out to be Pan-Pac's that someone had deposited and never returned for them how would you like to walk in a deal like that if they were getting rid of them?

I would like to understand how the coin earned that label.... There must be some evidence to support the authentication. Cheers, RickO
