I just asked my 23 year old son what he wanted for Christmas

And he said all he wants is a nice AU Indian Head Cent. Just made my day and I had to share. There is hope for this hobby . He sold his whole collection when he went off to school but kept an almost empty Indian Head Cent Dansco that he had just in case. Who said young people aren't collecting coins?
I was not expecting him to tell me that. Show me some nice AU Indians so I can get an idea of what he's looking for.

smart kid
Nothing is as expensive as free money.
Good to hear. I like it.
Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.
The only people who think us millennials and “zoomers” (gen z) don’t collect are the dinosaurs who are out of touch.
Glad to hear that you’ll be able to share time and the collecting hobby with your son.
Great news!!
I hope you find him a really NICE one!!!

I can't tell if he is a millennial or an iGen (gen z) since he is right on the edge. He made my day though asking for a coin.
So there is a Santa Claus in numismatics! (Within the family).
Rick Snow @EagleEye has one of the dates he asked for on eBay that I just found plus I get eBay bonus bucks. This could turn out to be double awesome.
Yes there is!
I would get him a really nice one then. One worth enough to not forget about ever.
He's a smart kid. He asked for 1871-1878 as well as a few others
Well, if anyone knows IHCs it's Rick Snow! This situation sounds very serendipitous!
BOTH father and son are quite fortunate!
I am going to get my dad a CC Morgan for Christmas. He is the one who got me started, decades ago, and he still maintains an interest.
It's REALLY special, when fathers and sons share in the hobby together.
I'm sincerely glad for you and your son.

Excellent @hchcoin!
This one was a hard find a nice AU58 1859 CAC and it will not break the byank around $300:
Great news! Especially considering there’s only one thing I wanted at the age of 23 for all holidays. And non-holidays.
@slider23 that is a beautiful coin
I love IHC's - good luck finding the right one. Here's an AU58+ I sold last year.
Small size pic but not high quality when enlarged. Have fun shopping!
Excellent young Man.
Cheers!
100% Positive BST transactions
1877 PCGS AU58 CAC with some original mint red left
My kids want money too, but more than pennies.
Nice coin but it's the wrong pic.
Worry is the interest you pay on a debt you may not owe.
Nice!
That is great.....Coins make a really good gift..for coin collectors.....Non collectors just do not understand Cheers, RickO
Correct picture wrong date. The date is 1859.
It’s great to have a son or daughter that shares the same passion about coins as you do. I’m lucky in that regard also.
Enjoy it my friend😊
Good on your son. I wish there were more.
However, that does not appear to be the case: not my son nor ANY of his friends or classmates have shown even a whiff of interest despite over 5 years of continued trying to tempt and interest them, taking them to shows, Young Numismatists events, etc.
Well, just Love coins, period.
Very wise son! Please post the X-mas coin you have in mind
Bought one from Rick Snow at Eagle Eye. This is his photo.
@hchcoin Great choice! He'll love it!!
