My little girl is in a better place

COINS MAKE CENTSCOINS MAKE CENTS Posts: 1,861 ✭✭✭✭✭

My baby girl oliva has gone to heaven today. I'm heart broken. She was my coin helper. She was my coin office buddy. She was always so happy when me and my wife would return from setting up at a coin show. Please post a coin that makes you happy that I can use to cheer me up.

There are animals that are just “pets” and then there are animals that are family. Some people just can’t grasp that concept. I cried like a baby when I lost my Mastiff to cancer. I am so sorry for your loss.

I am so sorry for your loss. I was sent this poem when I had to say goodbye to my friend a while back...

I stood by your bed last night, I came to have a peep.
I could see that you were crying, You found it hard to sleep.
I whined to you softly as you brushed away a tear,
    "It's me, I haven't left you, I'm well, I'm fine, I'm here."

I was close to you at breakfast, I watched you pour the tea,
You were thinking of the many times, your hands reached down to me.
I was with you at the shops today, Your arms were getting sore.
I longed to take your parcels, I wish I could do more.

I was with you at my grave today, You tend it with such care.
I want to re-assure you, that I'm not lying there.
I walked with you towards the house, as you fumbled for your key.
I gently put my paw on you, I smiled and said " it's me."

You looked so very tired, and sank into a chair.
I tried so hard to let you know, that I was standing there.
It's possible for me, to be so near you everyday.
To say to you with certainty, "I never went away."
You sat there very quietly, then smiled, I think you knew...
In the stillness of that evening, I was very close to you.

The day is over... I smile and watch you yawning
and say "good-night, God bless, I'll see you in the morning."
And when the time is right for you to cross the brief divide,
I'll rush across to greet you and we'll stand, side by side.
I have so many things to show you, there is so much for you to see.

Be patient, live your journey out...then come home to be with me.

I am so sorry for your loss. I know exactly how you feel. I lost my Rebecca (avatar) in Jan 2018. I was crushed. She was with me where ever I went. She laid beside me in my chair while I looked at coins on my lap top hour after hour. I had her for 14 years. She blessed my life and I treated her like the Queen she was. That's all you can do. Like some one once said your loved one will only break your heart once...….when they leave you. :'(

I'll send you a coin if you keep it in memory of Olivia from a fellow forum member. Not a big money coin, but I think you will like it. I found it in a junk silver purchase, but it is better than junk and will be a surprise. Just going to slap it in an envelope and send it. If this is ok, pm me your mailing address.

I have this cat that's been around since 2003. In the last few months, it has taken on an unbearable odor. Lately, we have given this cat a bit of stress through the number of baths which is turning out to be a weekly thing. I believe its deteriorating through old aging. There are no visible ailments or sores, only occasional coughing. As I sit at my desk and my cat lays curled up on my sofa some 10 yards away, this cat has the entire room stunk up. I'm sorry about the OP's loss, I've had a few dogs in the past but I can't help thinking how I'll be glad when this cat goes. I actually have a hole dug up for this cat. I had another cat (only 3 years old) drop dead of a heart attack before last winter. Dug the hole extra deep thinking my old cat may go during the winter and how frozen the ground can get through winter. The thought has crossed my mind to take it in to the vet and have it put to sleep. My wife suffers from severe COPD and I have kidded with her which of the two will go first. The least, she doesn't stink as bad as the cat. lol

Here's a sad story. I've mowed yards over the years and a few of my customers are well off, have expensive houses with very thick, plush carpet you don't see at the stores. I was a bit shocked in learning the fate of old small toy dogs once they pee on such carpets. And what's more, they are replaced with the same breed of dog.

Losing a beloved pet is always difficult. My wife and I have never had a pet, but we did take care of a neighbor's dog a number of times. We got attached to the little fellow who was Pekingese. He could be the classic lap dog, and my wife enjoyed that.

His one fault was he didn't like other dogs. On his walks, when he smelled the markings of another dog, he would mark the territory with his own "ink" and then growl and kick the ground. When ran into another dog, he was in attack mode despite his size. One time he stood down a huge dog that must have weighted over 125 pounds. That dog was just a big chicken. We called him "the lummox."

“Gismo” passed on a couple of years ago from old age. He is gone, but not forgotten.

Not my oldest proof USA coin but one of my favourites.

BTW I am presently owned by three black kitties and a Siberian/Australian mixed doggy. They are all dynastic pets that we got when our older pets were aging so that they could train the youngsters. The doggy dynasty started in 1979, the kitty dynasty in 1996.
