Completed my Capped Bust Half set!

I've been working on this set for about three years, and finally capped it off with recent pickups of the 1807 and 1815. There's still a few coins I might replace, but overall I'm very happy with how it turned out. I've seen lots of gorgeous high AU sets for this series, but building a set of mid-grade circ cameo coins has been a lot of fun, and a lot more affordable!

Since this thread is useless without pics, the full set is here - if anyone wants to double check my amateur attributions I'd greatly appreciate it! And a few of my favorites:

Congrats! Love the originality of your set. I remember when I completed my date set many years ago, great feeling!

My favorite is your 1814 O.108a E/A, love the coin you chose, a great example of this cool Redbook variety and a personal favorite in my set as well....congrats!

Now what....are you gonna try to complete the Redbook set or go for the whole enchilada...the Overton set? :o

Nice job! Very well done. IMHO, For YEARS the CBH set has been undervalued. Only lately are people realizing the the true rarity of this set. It is a very popular and beautifully designed set that will only continue to grow. It is on my type set list. Big Congrats!!

That is a very cool accomplishment! My head swims when I think about collecting bust halves, all those varieties, and I would probably get sucked in to trying to get every one! Your set is a very good start though, congrats!

Nice set in my favorite grade range.

Now that you have completed step 1 ... a date set ... what's next? Redbook set? BHNC membership? Die marriage set?

    Congrats! And good job.

Many of us started with a date set. But once it was done the fever persisted. So a Redbook set with major varieties is often the next step.

Problem is, the fever doesn't ever fade. Upgrades can tame it for a while. But going all-in on a die marriage set can make for a satisfying, lifelong pursuit.

Thanks for the kind words everyone! I'm not sure exactly what's next - probably finishing my large cent set, but once that's done a Redbook set is a distinct possibility for both sets.

Very nice set. I am working on one myself. Stuck on the 1815/2 and the 39-O and replacing a few that no longer fit the overall look.

Edited to add: I also like your display page - a really great way to show many coins at one. Well done!
