SCNA Show Report - Greenville, SC 10/25-10/27/19

This was the SC state show with a 100 dealer capacity at the local convention center- a good location with lots of parking. It's always great to wander a show and to see what is happening in our hobby. This show was what I expected with lots of dealers offering 2X2s along with slabbed and unslabbed Morgans in abundance. Also saw a few foreign, paper, and medal dealers.

The leafage is starting to change here but it is an overcast Friday as I pull into the parking lot.

As you walk into the show, a few seminars are announced (but not in my wheelhouse of interests):

The venue was large with wide aisles which I would appreciate if I return tomorrow and the turnout gets larger.

What I enjoyed were the few educational exhibits. I'm not a paper money collector, but I thought the signed notes were very cool and can imagine how the signatures were obtained ala "hey there, sign this for me please?". This exhibit had about 5 cases showing various denominations with signatures. Two photos, one with the exhibitor name and one of his display cases.

I did enjoy chatting with a Chattanooga dealer, David Johnson from Rare Coins and Currency, who had some nice offerings. I wasn't in the market to buy anything, but always good to see what's available just in case.

Not a bad way to spend 90 minutes!
