My father had one just like it (minus the modifications). Same color too.

It burned to an empty shell right in front of his house.

But unlike a coin, that can be fixed.

Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

    The toilet seat makes it.

One of my Army Buddies welded a toilet seat on the back of his tank during the Gulf War, camouflaged. There was even a piece of rebar to hold the paper. It was a bit of a joke, until the actual combat operations commenced, and there were no "facilities" downrange. It was quite nice to have a sit down spot, according to him, and it got a lot of use from the other tankers.

However, it did him pause one morning (much of the fighting was at night as the US can see and fight at night, whereas the bad guys do not have the equipment) when he jumped off the tank to relive himself, leaning against the side, and realized he was "watering" a mine. Thankfully, it was an anti-tank, so he, as a person, was not at risk, but the check around carefully before heading out to make sure that mine did not have friends. .

You can be underwater on a coin, but it is hard to imagine a coin that is not some form of "asset".

The real estate equivalent of the vehicle shown would be called a "money pit".

A vehicle that you can drive out on a 2,000 mile round trip excursion with a 95% likelihood of getting back home with no breakdown(s) is still a desirable vehicle. Less margin than that, it starts to become a liability.

It's only fun when there are no real worries. I realize I am a spoil-sport.

Source: Presently I own three older autos (no payments) and two are liabilities. My kid is driving the only asset.

It depends on if you're racing it in the 24 hours of lemons. It looks like it could be in a 24 hours of lemons. (Which might be one of the greatest racing series of all time. And yes, it's a real race series.)

Your example is $250 too expensive though. Maybe he can be talked down to $500.

Here's a synopsis of the latest race.
