How large is the ballroom there that it can hold an ANA?
Just out of curiousity, I checked out the hotel website. First of all, it's 23 miles from the nearest major airport (Newark). Second, it's only a six story hotel and I saw no mention of any major meeting space (unless you're going to lease office space from the adjacent Morris County Corporate Center). Sounds like a nice place for a typical Sunday coin show but anything beyond that is a pipedream.
I voted to keep it at Rosemont. While it's local for me, it seems the most pragmatic of those locations with the space. If I were coming in from out of town, it's very close to the airport (unless I were to use Midway), there are plenty of hotel rooms nearby, and there are many more dining options within walking distance than there were 10 years ago. The unions in Philadelphia cost the ANA an extra $200K last year, if I remember correctly. There is still no sales tax on coins in Illinois, which is rather ironic considering the general tax environment of the Worst Goverened State. That's a lot of stuff that ain't broke.
Rosemont is a rather peculiar enclave, goverened (ruled?) by a single family since its incorporation 60 years ago, built into a major office, convention, and entertainment area based on leveraging the growth of O'Hare, and being outside the city of Chicago.
Lets go west of the Mississippi again.
we are not just the fly over parts.
Omaha, NE. or San Diego,CA. (my Choice).
ANA has been to both before ,but not for a long time.
How about bus tours, ballgames, concerts and such as before for the family and interested.
made the event much more fun and friendly.

Indeed. The key phrase being "outside the city."
One of the few cases where such a governing structure has generally been to the public good, although they did screw up interstate access to River Road.
The major factor - posted several times, referenced in the thread from three years ago - and no amount of wishful thinking is going to change it... is to find a venue that wants the ANA.

Yeah, that's a mess that people who fly into the show never get to experience. Driving in from the north or west is a weird experience. They probably could have fixed some of that when they redid the 90 EB to Cumberland exit, or added an off ramp onto Higgins by the arena.

I don't think so. They need to nail these years down soon.
There was a survey they e-mailed out recently regarding locating future summer ANA shows, with one option being permanently locating it in Rosemont.

Thank you
I sure hope that it is not always Rosemont.
I voted against it. Curious how others voted!
I like Rosemont as a recurring location
Latin American Collection
Me too.
I’m good with Rosemont at least every other year
Use the spring show to hit smaller markets and move around. Rosemont makes a lot of sense for summer show to get the most dealers and visitors
For those not in favor of Rosemont, why do you disagree with it?

What about holding it at @ricko 's casino
The ANA should look at a map showing the number of members by zip code!
This should be a MAJOR factor.
