Tardy ANA report and NEWPS

Typing this as I hurtle down a highway in China on my way to Hong Kong. I was able to squeeze in a trip to Chicago/ANA/Mother-in-laws 90th Birthday prior. I’m behind on everything.
I went directly to the Show from the airport on Wed and headed straightaway to see cardinal at the Stacks table. He’s been a great mentor to me over the years and he continued to teach as I was going over his amazing all things Libertas presentation. His passion and knowledge is infectious.
I generally use these shows to catch up on relationships, spot trends and to deep dive into the state of the market. This show was no different. I spent some quality time with Bill Shamhart, CRO John and the folks at Legend. I’m shifting my collecting genre a bit and I wanted some opinions/ feedback. At the end of the day I’ll be consigning a nice group of my coins in the December Legend sale.
Had a great chat with Doug Winter. Old gold and fresh sushi. Doug is a national treasure. Got a chance to catch up with John Kraljevich and you’ll be happy to know we solved quite a few of the countries challenges. You are welcome. I wanted to spend time with Regulated and Andy Lustig but they were busy every time I went by. I did get a fist bump in with David at least. Caught up with Seth Chandler and Luis at Witter. They are anxious to get the new SF store open. It’s going to be amazing. Seth and I have a lot in common and we could talk all day. As always it’s always a pleasure visiting with Dave Wnuck.
Ran into board members BigMoose, UltraHighRelief and Boosibri. Great great great guys. Top shelf really.
While there wasn’t much for me in the auctions the show itself was rather robust in my opinion. Lots of positive signs. Dealers and collectors seemed to be having a great show.
As for your truly I ended up with a couple of fun Newps. If I told you I came to the show looking for a coin with cat tails growing out of a skulls eye socket would you believe me? That would indeed be a lie. I didn’t even know this coin existed. These have a way of finding me. They are supposed to be quite rare.

Mark, I think I always took you for a Social Butterfly, now I have the assurance that you are. I feel the same way about shows, I like to take care of business and then take care of fun.

Great report. Relationships are what the coins are all about. One young (but quite astute IMHO) dealer was buying coins from me in Dalton and said "These shows are all about socialization. The coins enable that." It kinda knocked me back on my heels ... dang, he's right! Thanks for sharing.

The coin is definitely an interesting one and not one I had seen before. I had to look up the Latin legend: Vitae melioris imago= image of a better life.
