Bidask ANA report
I sold quite a few world coins to many collectors and dealers .
I thought business was active in my space of collecting .... but I was giving good deals cull my collection.
As a matter of fact I lost money on most of the sales .
Made it up somewhat on sales of nice slabbed world gold.
Sold coins to asian, mexican, japanese, American and phillipine collectors.
Pillar dollars, Philippine centavos, some modern crowns , cap &rays 8 reales, and other foreign coins.
Spoke with some noted US dealers who thought the US market remains in a downtrend .
Maybe someone can give a report of their impressions of platinum night for US coins.
I thought the world coin sales did rather well and at the Cook collection of Canadian coins the auction room was almost full of buyers .
I did splurge on some very high end Mexican gold that had been off the market for decades .
Yours truly with some famous visitors.
Mr. Eureka’s table at happy hour .
Here is some pics from the PCGS luncheon :
Kevin Lipton introducing Tony Terranova for this year Hall of Fame coin dealer induction.
Q David Bowers posthumous introduction of Eric Newman to the Hall of Fame.
Mr Bowers gave a story when he visited Eric at his home in St Louis and Eric asked him if he could figure out where his “ secret compartment “ was and QDB chose correctly to Eric’s surprise .
When Eric asked him how he knew where it was QDB responded he also has a “ secret compartment “ in his own home too.
Many registry awards were handed out .
My hope is in the future PCGS build in time for those award winners to share a little history of their coin collection if they are willing too.
I give away money. I collect money.
I don’t love money . I do love the Lord God.

The Eric Newman slide had the wrong birth year.
Nice report, Dan. Did you pick up any Cap and Rays, or just the gold? And where are the pictures of said pick-ups?

@bidask Thanks for your report and pics.
1932 is the year he started being a dealer.

That was not a birth year. It was the years that he was a dealer.
More specifically, it was a secret compartment in a piece of furniture. QDB had the same piece.

Nice report
Since he was recognized as a dealer, I wonder if the slide stated the first year he became a dealer and not the year of his birth?
Thank you for the show report and pics.
I very much enjoyed your report and your great pics.
Thanks for the report and the pictures...I see some nice red wine in the happy hour picture
