    I got on at 12:03 and got two of the silver coins with the print. got an order confirmation but no shipping yet. Is it really only 1000 total prints? I have the other ones so I wanted 2 of these to complete the set.

    Does that make the coin more valuable than the others as it’s now one of 500 silver Apollo dollars? Better keep the boxes sealed.

    It's not about the dollar coin on these -- it's the intaglio print and any other issue-specific certificates. If they come in a sealed set, then keeping them intact would be recommended.

    What's the reasoning behind keeping them sealed? These prints can only be purchased via the gold or the silver Apollo sets ...unless PCGS or other TPG are planning to issue a special pedigree for the coin from these particular sets.

    Kinda similar to the Rocketship labels?

    Two boxes in a bigger box.

    The silver coins boxed.

    The prints are boxed or thick cardboard flats.

    And then put in a bigger box for shipping.

    It’d be messed up if they were loose to rattle around.

    You would think, since these two products have real US Mint product codes, that they would have reported sales in the latest report, but you would be wrong.

    I also find it interesting that the Mint set the price for these a full week after going on sale...

    Well, it's about time. They've been hovering right at 99,998 sets (100K limit) sold for the past couple of months.

    I guess we'll get the final figure later today. I wonder if they found two more sets... :)

    The Mint is finally reporting the Proof/Print numbers. For 8/25:

    U.S. Mint releases sales totals for 2019 commemorative coins

    Apollo 11 Commems:
    $5 Gold: 32,865 Proof and 12,035 Uncirculated.
    $1 Silver: 219,015 Proof and 59,701 Uncirculated.
    Clad Half: 68,824 single (168,822 total including the half set), 41,748 Uncirculated.
    5oz Pucks: 68,306 (of 100K.)
    Half Dollar Special set: 99,998. (Only two short of the 100K limit.)

    I think the backorders on the puck killed the 5oz silver. I still think that should have been a no-brainer sell out, but it was the entire fault of Congress not consulting the Mint on how many 5oz pucks they could produce.

    Other than that, the A11 was a popular subject and dominated the market pre-July, but the commem was a relative failure versus the 2014 BBHoF commem. I think it does show that curved coins aren't going to be a draw. Someone needs to point this out to congress.

    I don't think this bodes well for the basketball commems next this year. (I could be wrong. I think the coins will be actively advertised by the HoF, so we'll see if it drums up additional interest.)

    And I'll make the bold prediction that the Sufferage dollar will be one of the lowest mintage commems, considering the very late release date, the subject, and publicity the commem has received. (It's not even a TBA on the product schedule yet.) The only think I think it has going for it, is it's only going to be offered in silver.
