Have you ever been ignored on this forum?

Insider2Insider2 Posts: 14,452 ✭✭✭✭✭

LOL, I tried to PM a member to get a summary of a discussion that was removed and learned that he was ignoring me! :'(

That is a great way to find out for sure so I'm going to PM a few more members to check it out. I'm glad CU increased the "ignore" software. Perhaps I'll go for the record. :)

Maybe does not know how to use the private message?

What’s funny (probably not for the poster) is when someone posts on an individual’s “wall” thinking it’s a private message but it’s available for EVERYONE to see.

Posting their real name, address, phone numbers, email, etc. :o

I tried to ignore one guy, who always shares too much about his varieties, but I still see his posts.

  • HydrantHydrant Posts: 7,773 ✭✭✭✭✭

Not that I know of. But I wouldn't blame any one for trying.

P.S. My offer from a couple of years ago still stands. I've got the best 10 seats in the house. You pick the game. The more the merrier! The Rams did go to the Super Bowl. Good old fashioned game. No way those referees would let them win after the New Orleans debacle. Last year at the Colesium. Ranks right up there with Wrigley Field and Fenway Park. Only better.

Routinely. It could be due to my incessant kvetching, but I don't think so. I mean there's the whole ignoring thing. And what about all the CAC this, and CAC that. A coin is AU/BU...well, is it AU, or BU? You're a numismatist facrissake. You ought to know. And then there's all that meshugas about who has the best grading service. Is it this one, that one, maybe he should start his own service. Now we have to listen to people go on about the farkakte grading system. Oy gevalt!

That's the discussion about CAC I missed. I bookmarked it to read today because I gave a grading class for the Tampa Coin Club on Sat.

The member who ignored me is pretty special in my mind although we've had our differences. It came as a shock when I tried to PM him.

Probably? Maybe? Who really cares though? Not me.

I care. If you ignored me I would be very sad! That goes for @Keets, @jmlanzaf, @Bailey and a few others who I argue with all the time. :p

Don't know. Ok if I am though.
I do have 2 ignored. One of them, I have ignored on multiple forums as they are just too prolific in posting stupid stuff in order to get their post count up and he really doesn't have knowledge to share and isn't a helpful sort....just an instigator.
The other one....very close to the same, but I only see on this forum.....got tired of all the "look at me!" type of things

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

I don’t think I’ve been ignored, but some of my posts have ;)
Likewise, I haven’t ignored anyone either. Came close once, over a coin I had posted on the BST. Guy really wanted it and spent a lot of time chiseling me down after I’d already given a bottom line price.

    Please ignore me.

I will never ignore anyone. I like to judge one's character by their words. If they prove it be an idiot, so be it, now I know.

Most rational people learn to evaluate thoughts of insiders, not ignore them.

Note that once fully evaluated, sometimes the conclusion is to ignore. LOL

Yes, I’ve messaged “popular” or “frequent” users before on general questions or asking for more detail from one of their posts and sometimes they don’t bother respond. I’m always courteous with my messages and once in a while I will be ignored.

Life goes on, but these Users who happen to have ignored me end up being the users who are doom and gloom about our hobby....kind of an oxymoron. 🤷‍♂️

I’m thankful for all of those who do share their information and time and energy to particulate in this forum. They’re the people who help ensure the hobby stays going.
