This AU WHIZZED 1892-s was cracked-out and ARTIFICIALLY TONED.......do you think it is ethical to knowingly hide this FACT?

The two little tics above the reverse arrows confirm these are the same two coins. Interesting story with the eBay auction. I hope that seller sees this thread and is at least a little embarrassed or ashamed of the life choices he had made.

I miss the ol' "scumnuker" days whereby two board members would bid such a coin into the millions of dollars, thereby killing the auction. Hilarious.
Without a doubt the same coin. Any way to know if ebay is aware of this guy's methods? Seems like over and over again I'm seeing these posts here about problem coins purchased at the big auctions, cracked out and sold as problem free on ebay. On top of that he is listing AU as Unc.
Since this was a GC auction, perhaps @ianrussell can "persuade" him to not bid in GC auctions any longer. (I am assuming the GC buyer and Ebay seller are the same person, which seems to be his MO)

Does anyone know a way to report listings of this type, where the seller buys problem coins, doctors them, offers them as problem-free and lies about where he obtained them?

The seller's actions appear to be illegal misrepresentation, so it appears to be a violation of ebay terms to offer this and similar items for sale.
As for ethical - No.
But we have so many public examples of unethical behavior which many ignore, that it must be confusing for some.
Yes, the seller is a bona fide POS. Why are people bidding 2600+ on a raw coin (I guess it is the tired story offered by the seller) that would be, should be holdered? Greed got these bidders. The good news is that the buyer can force a return on this seller...which they most likely will do.
A simple, personal rule to only bid on more expensive coins - say $250 and up in reputable holders would have filtered this coin out. Second rule would to avoid coins that have photos not true as seen in natural light.
Two simple rules adopted, a hundred problem coins avoided.

If the picture is accurate, the coin has screaming AT. It sucks when the seller / coin doctor hides the fact that it’s whizzed, but buyers need to learn how to spot AT. This is how you live and learn. I learned a lot of lessons in my youth and you never stop learning them because the crooks are aways out there.

It very well might just be coincidence, but I did report it earlier today. I used the option for replica coins and currency, so that I could make use of the “brief description” space. In it, I wrote something like “Buys and alters problem coins, offers as problem-free, lies about where he got them. Whom to call?”. Whatever my exact wording was, i had to make it very brief, in order to fit within the allotted space.

You can complain about "the dockter', Big Al, kremlin cooker whatever name he uses. You shut him down and he just pops up in another spot. The man's got more names than Carter has Little Liver Pills! And he's slick to boot.

Estate is from the safe of my father-in-law Vladamire Mikhailov, a Russian businessman and collector. Vlad collected some of the best coins available during his travels from Moscow to the United States. Coins were purchased at Auctions, Coin Shows, and used as collateral for loans. The collection has been passed down to my wife to help start our new life in the United States.
I think the way ebay is structured lends itself to these sorts of shenanigans. If you shut the doktor down, he just reappears as Big Al... like "whack-a-mole". The only thing this has done is limit my activity on ebay.
