My Collection of Old Holders
Never a slave to one plastic brand will I ever be.
I was sweating it out ,but I maintained #1 in 3 sets again.
I use to have a bunch of #1's until Hanson came along. Now I have 2 and a bunch of #2 and #3 and #4's. Here is my pride and joy #1. I actually have 2 more varieties to add but they are not back from PCGS yet and I don't enter coins until I have them in hand.

You must love the Lafayette coin design!
I just added a coin to my set this month that brings the set to 123/123 coins and #1 for Capped Bust Half Dimes by Logan and McCloskey Numbers, Circulation Strikes. Pics for all of them posted in the set too, though for a handful there are technical glitches that require you to click "view more"
I like how it rated at 58

If I crossed all of my NGC sets ( over 100 coins ) to PCGS it would be a monster PCGS set.
However, for now I am keeping my Cap & Ray coins in their NGC holders.....waiting on PCGS crossover special!
I give away money. I collect money.
I don’t love money . I do love the Lord God.
how long did that set take to put together the way you wanted it? I assume it wasn't just a matter of grades, but also a matter of eye appeal...since those coins are outstanding!
Thanks for the question... it’s taken me about 5 years and I still have a few upgrades to make. The 2R and 8R will be upgraded one day. The 1/2R and 4R are unimproveable while I have a 1R in 66 which I like less than my 1R in 65. One day the 65 will be a 66 as it should be and it will be in the set. Bought it for $100 in Germany and worth thousands now.

Great accomplishment man. This is way more impressive to me than those 2 sets of Mercury Dimes fighting each other paying 350K for common date coins.
This set of Half Dimes is just mind boggling. GREAT JOB!!
that 2R is my favorite! I really like the way it toned. Aren't you working on another set along the lines of foreign coins which circulated in early America? I recall you helped get that established on the Registry .
Thanks, DM! I had a thought as I was driving today with those dimes in mind. I thought how odd it was that one of those dimes had more "value" than my entire set, yet I wouldn't trade the entire set for one of those dimes. For $350,000, that's a different conclusion
gorgeous coins!
If I had the choice of your Half Dime set or BOTH of those Dimes...…..I would take your set in a heartbeat!
LOL, of course we both would! Besides, what are we doing to do with $350,000? Lobster for dinner and a chauffeur? That's no fun...
Holy crap! That is one fantastic set.
Great @Boosibri !
Awesome set!

Nice job on your set, Brian

"Coin collecting for outcasts..."
Doesn't get any better. Everyone else can go pound sand. Cardinal, that's the most beautiful set I have ever seen. WOW!
Outstanding set!!!!!

The eye appeal is off the charts
I started the "World Coins in Early Americas" set with PCGS. I'm sure I could have finished that set already but I have been waiting for a few special pieces with real ties to Colonial America.
For example, I could add a French Ecu any day but I am looking for a 1725-H (New Rochelle) which was the most prevelant example recovered from the Le Chameau shipwreck off the coast of Nova Scotia. My L d'Or is ex. JJF and is the finest example coming from that shipwreck.
Similarly on the other pieces I have waited, I am going to add a 1776 dated Guineas and Ducat and the 1E to 2E's are in my primary focus area of Latin American type and I just haven't found a nice enough piece to add to that set yet.
Here is that set: https://pcgs.com/setregistry/multi-country/multi-country-type-sets/world-coins-circulating-early-america-type-set-circulation-strikes-1575-1826/publishedset/148684

very nice. There is always a temptation to add a coin to a set just to add it to the set and fill a hole. Glad to see you are holding out for special examples. Makes the process and end state more rewarding.
I am one of those that will "fill" a hole with a lower grade coin until a better one comes along. Especially if it is an extremely hard coin to find.

you are a tireless upgrader!
My everyman bust half dollar set used to be number one. Along came plus grading.
I refuse to buy a 58+ I dislike. So, I have been a comfortable also-ran for seven years.
Keigwin's Everyman
Lance.
I agree Lance.....I also wouldn't buy a 58 or 58+ if I had a 55 I liked better.
I probably pass on 80% of the 58+ coins that I see.
I don't like to brag, but I do have the #264 Indian Quarter Eagle Set: https://www.ngccoin.com/registry/competitive-sets/174373/
Ha ha!
Those are some serious coins for the top ranking sets above - wow!
