RIP, Old Friend

Fifteen years ago we adopted a six month old puppy that had to have been at least nine tenths Tasmanian devil from a national rescue organization. During the selection process the volunteer let it slip that this black and white fireball had been adopted before and brought back, more than once. Because of this she was being considered for the un-adoptable list. That was when we knew we had to take her.
They said her name was 'Princes' , but there was no princes in her. We named her Moxie, and she lived up to that name the longest day of her life. Yesterday, her energy finally ran out.
Please, if you have one post a picture of a dog coin, thank you

thank you
The only problem with pets is they don't live as long as their owners.
We lost the sweetest little cat not long ago. Still miss her.
Sorry for your loss.
My sister had a psychotic pomeranian that literally bounced from spot to spot, one day it died of a heart attack in mid-bounce. She found another that was just as nuts. Sorry for your loss.
Rest in peace Moxie. No coin but here's Jackson who like Moxie was returned twice before I fell in love with him at first sight in his pre-adoption cage. He was the runt of a litter of Bassadors from Tennessee when I found him in NJ. He's about 11 now and still the same puppy I adopted but a little greyer and slower. WIth his buddy Archie and theres another chi Gordo now.
I had a border collie that wanted to go on forced 20 mile marches twice a day. When I would turn for home on a walk, he would dig all four into the pavement.....way too much energy for me. He too passed early from heart failure. Miss him greatly and it's been 8 years. I wish you well with your memories. Hope they are all great ones!

I understand your grief. We just lost our Boston Terrier Abby two months ago. That was (and is) a very tough experience for us.
So sorry for your loss. I know the feeling....I lost my precious Rebecca (avatar) 1/23/18 after 14 years. She sat on the arm of my chair a looked at a LOT of Dimes with me on the Laptop. Will ALWAYS miss her!
My friend went to be with the angels in December, two weeks before his 17th birthday. When I adopted him, he was on his second stay at the shelter. I am sorry for your loss, saying goodbye is so hard.
Our newest Pittie... Big man hug to you man! Our doggos burn bright! Much love man
Not the best photo, but the quickest one I found. Dogs are awesome, but don't live long enough.

And one more, a conder token this time:

RIP Moxie. Thanks for taking her in. I have lost pets too, as well as taken in one a few years ago who was already very old and almost unadoptable. Dogs give you unconditional love.
A nice saying that I have shared here before: Be the person your dog thinks you are.
Sorry for the loss of your Moxie. My avatar is the best I can do for a dog coin/pic. Died at 14 years and 2 weeks in June 2013.
Still miss him. Take care
Jim
The twins pass along their condolences. It’s a tough thing I know

Fellas, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pockets you better use them to call a tailor. Stay thirsty my friends......
I am so sorry for your loss. I have gone through losing 2 dogs that was just like one of my children.
Also one cat. He was a very special one too.

Perhaps one of the most amazing things about these Boards is the ability for one member to affect emotion from another with just an unforeseen post . . . . . like this one.
I don't care if it isn't directly numismatics (my numismatics provides funds for kibbles, vet care, and all sorts of love for my three hounders) , but I certainly know how our OP feels as I have lost a few over time myself. I hope our OP realizes the bond from his beloved . . . . the trust that was there . . . the bonding that can never be broken . . . and the love that will stand the test of time.
Bravo to all our hounds. Bravo to those who post on the sad occasions of loss or ill-health . . . and for those of you who have never experienced the bond, or even the loss . . . you have my sympathy.

Sorry for your loss. They are truly special family members. I was working on coin inventory and Cody wants my attention.

In addition to our Boston we've lost our three shelter dogs-three Lab mixes, the last one only two years ago. They were among the best dogs we've ever had. We still have one with us-a German Shepherd mix but she's gettin' up there in years.
Oh wow I'm sorry to hear this. They have a way of making you love them and they sure do leave a hole in you when they depart. Here's a pic of Molly at the hotel enjoying a nap. We lost her a year or two ago.

Now over 20 years have passed since I lost Tessarah Louise, she was an incredible puppy that we got when I was 10 years old in 1975 as a rescue. What made it particularly difficult was we never thought we were going to have her a very long time as she was often ill in her younger years. But she stayed with me through my high school years, college, getting a job, moving out, getting married etc - she made it to just over 22 years old! This photo was taken when she was about 20 years old, she had really greyed out and lost a lot of her fur by then. She still liked to go on walks and ride around in my car but stairs were an issue for her. I often wonder if her diet played a part in her long life, she never handled dog food too well and she ended up eating a semi-vegetarian diet with rice and a lot of green peas etc.
Her legacy lives on, my now 7 year old doggy is Blueberry Tessarah Louise, my blue eyed Aussie/Husky mix.
It's heartbreaking. So sorry for your loss. I lost my dog Atreyu last summer.
Peace be with you...ALL dogs go to Heaven 💯

Very sorry for your loss... dogs are family and we love them...The loss of a pet really hurts. Cheers, RickO
Sorry for your loss. We lost our dear family member last month.

Sorry to hear, Moxie. No matter how many times you've gone through it, it's still unbelievably tough.
22 years is a fantastic run for a dog, I wish they all lived that long. It would be interesting to know if the diet played a part in her longevity.

Touching! Sorry for your loss.
I too know what your heart is feeling. Don't forget, not only us and the family is saddened but if at the time you have another pet, that pet as well, I'm sure, feels hurt along with us! Make sure you love even more on them. Hope you feel more comforted after the members comments?
Here is my recent loss, Timber.

"Jesus died for you and for me, Thank you,Jesus"!!!
--- If it should happen I die and leave this world and you want to remember me. Please only remember my opening Sig Line.I have always gotten another pet when the older one was aging - sort of a training session. That way the older pet has company and a trainee - and believe me they do pick up the habits of the older pet. My black cat that is memorized in my signature trained two black kittens starting in the spring of 2015. And incredibly they do the same things he did, staying around someone who is not feeling well, reminding you when it is bedtime etc. They were good company for Seryozha and groomed him etc.
My present dog was trained by my grandmother's dog who was previously trained by Tessarah Louise. Of course newer pets are not all the same as previous pets but it does provide a continuity
Sorry for your loss, pets are part of the family. Dogs are so loyal, these are my two that moved on.

Sorry for your loss.
