I have two differant camera shots, what do you all think? Tough to grade on my part and I'm sure not easy from the pictures on your part.

    28's should have beveled rims

    Is this a 1923?????

Earlier in my career I cherrypicked two 1928s from a bin of common Peace . . . they were both thought to be 1923s. Not sure what I see here . . . .

A 1923 and a problem coin also. Is it plated or a bleach job?

Looks like a 23 to me also. Might it have been coated in mercury at one time and worn or cleaned off since? I'd stay away if it were me unless you can get it around melt.

    1923 without question. If there’s any question......... it’s not a 28.

Weird surfaces as others have said. Worth $15-20 I’d think.

There are recognized die markers on genuine 28 coins, but I always need to look them up. Check VAMworld.

I saw a damaged 23 on first look. But the 2nd set of pics says it's just ugly, not damaged.

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

23 or 28, regardless. .. there's enough wrong with the surfaces of this coin that I'd not buy it...

I believe it's a 23 as well. It has alot of stuff going against it for sure! But it is silver still so silver price would be fine!

I have one that spent time as part of a belt buckle that had a similar appearance

Sure looks like a '23... but can see where the confusion comes from.... lighting and wear ... In hand one could use a loupe and see it clearly... Cheers, RickO
