    Sent it off to PCGS for restoration services yesterday. 1888 Proof $2.50, older PCGS holder as MS65, still solid for the grade, slight chance of upgrade or cameo at current grade. Estimated 50 known, under 100 mintage.

    I would like a Classic Large Cent in MS 63 or MS 64. It will never happen, because after an Unc. pre 1815 copper I had started turning in the holder 8 years after I bought it, I will not buy another pre 1815 copper unless it's in an OGH or first generation holder.

    I always thought that the CSA President Jefferson Davis specimen of the Confederate half dollar which was stolen from him by a Union soldier when he was arrested at the end of the Civil War would be a neat and very historic coin to own.

    Naftzger had many amazing chain cents, but "The Coin!" and SP-67 does narrow it down!
    It's an S-4 "AMERICA, Periods", previously owned by Mickley and Crosby among others.
    I was unable to find a nice color photo of it online, but it is easy to remember that there is a rather dazzling black and white photo of it in Breen's Encyclopedia.
