Opinions please on a recent Newp Lynchburg Commem for the set. GTG is you want.

I got this for a reasonable price on ebay. I usually never buy a coin with a visible fingerprint, but the small print on the top of the reverse seems to not bother me. I love the coin and the color has a lot more pop in hand. What do you guys feel about this coin and the fingerprint?

Guess the grade if you would like:

Nice looking Lynchburg and the mild accidental print isn't bothersome since it's not a full blown idiot mark.

64 maybe 65. Cheek ding is a bigger issue to me than the fingerprint, but overall I like it.

Cheek hit is pretty minimal and this is most likely in a MS66 holder.

MS68's have hits that size these days.

I like it and can see how it has more pop in-hand than the pic. That print doesn’t bother me. But are those nip hits?

In the old days, the grade would have been limited to MS-64 because of the fingerprint. Now ???

I have always liked this commemorative half dollar because of Carter Glass. He was one of the sponsors of the Federal Reserve Bank bill. I know that this comment is controversial for some people, but I think that the Fed as done far more good than harm over the years. If you don’t agree with me, look at the monetary history of this country in the 19th century when there was not Fed.

Lynchburgs that are undipped tend to tone gold-green and this coin is a very nice example. My guess is MS65

Actually, we worked it out via PM. Mr. Jones did not get my unfortunate FED=CAC joke.

I would like to take a moment to thank God Almighty for giving us the FED, Donald Trump and John Albanese.

@CommemKing Your example looks very original and the print is not detracting.

Also, this thread is great :D

Nice coin, better than average IMO. Obverse a bit hazy, but most of them are.
