Hi, any ideas on what’s happening? Is it worth more?

Looks like paint, which would have been done after it left the mint.

They used to paint them when used in bars, game rooms etc.. when free credit was given for like a mis-play in the jukebox or game machine so the vendors new when they emptied the machine to give credit back- thats what I always read.

Green ones = house money. When someones pool balls got stuck.
Red ones = test/repair quarters.
Repairmen would carry several on them whenever they went out on calls to repair vending machines, jukeboxes, vaccums/air pumps, arcade games, laundromats, newspaper holders, pay phones etc.
They would use these quarters to make sure the machine was back in functioning order. Then it’d be easy for him to spot these quarters. He’d snag his red ones and return the greenies back to the bartender or said establishment.
Don’t really see them all that much since everything got so darn expensive. Now it’s “bill” acceptors.
Probably worth $.25 or so.

Whoever painted the quarter did not have any skills. Just slapped green paint on it.
Need something like this:
Green Moly grease, filled the die and stuck to the coin....get it graded.

Juke box quarter. Play it again, Sam.
