I thought this coin was old.......until..............

I thought my 1799/8 was old until Until I saw a Jim Beam delivery truck today - Jim Beam since 1795.


Any similar thoughts on your coins? :smile:

    I think you meant 1799/8 rather than 1999/8.

    Weihenstephan brewery "since 1040" claims to be the oldest. Maybe should plan a trip when they celebrate 1000 years in 2040...

    I started to get the same feelings about my "old American coins" when I started collecting British hammered pieces.

    Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

    I have been there - you might be disappointed by the tour. It is very state of the art. :p
