Fellas, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pockets you better use them to call a tailor. Stay thirsty my friends......

No opinions?
IMHO it got bumped for the grade i dont see that being any where close to a 67..
While the pattern is perfect, crescent w/"draft" at the letters, as soon as these "gems' turn black at the edges, I'm out.
Greattoning is an expert at adjusting color balance to maximize bidding.
I like the seller - but notice he does not call it a monster, its not monster toned.
Just a nice 67 if indeed a 67 altogether.
Can't tell if STAR worthy either, but I don't see this one getting beaned, not at all!
Unattractive toning pattern on one side. Not a 67 by my standards. Where's the melt bucket?
Looks more like a 63+ to me.
Too many nicks and blemishes to be 67. Decent 65. Toning
is nice but not MONSTER.
Hope it is okay to guess a closing price like you asked.
$2058.00
Only 10 minutes left to guess a price...... hours & days for grade.
YAWN.
It’s not that big of a monster and it’s a little nicked up for a 67 in my opinion guess the color went a long way for it someone will probably big 2K on it

If that’s what you like. But not my cup of Joe.

Wow, tough crowd, though thus far, you seem to be the toughest.

I'm betting that if this coin were in a different holder, one more accepted by the majority of the posters here, the crowd would not be so tough.
My Collection of Old Holders
Never a slave to one plastic brand will I ever be.
Wrong. Mr.D’s pics are generally right on the money.......and honest/true to the in-hand look.
22,000+ 100% positive feedback over a period of 20 years
Not on the coin I purchased from him.
I'm just going by the marks on the cheek. The holder has nothing to do with it.
Hmmm. The ones I bought have all been great...actually better in-hand than his pics. And the ones I consigned all were imaged right on the money and did well, too.
Well I’m sure you got your money back if you were unhappy.
Common date, typical weak strike and molted toning, not for me for sure.
Did those comments pertain to the 1880-S that sold, or were you referring to a different coin (the 1901-O that now pops up if you use the original link posted)?

Sold at $1,726.99.
A few years ago I bid on common date PCGS MS62 that ended up selling for a similar price.
That and just that cheek turns me off ive seen 64s and 65s with cleaner ones
Seriously though. Why $1,726 for it. A nice Gold coin for that type of $$$ right?
Because some collectors think it’s beautiful and has a lot of personality. Perhaps one of them would ask you “Seriously, though, why $1,726 for that boring gold coin?”

$75 coin.
Whoever is careless with the truth in small matters cannot be trusted with important matters.
Okay now people are just getting silly.
I would have guessed MS66. Depending on the luster/vibrancy in hand, $1700 sounds about right.
I still get the original coin I posted, not seeing this 1901-O?
eBay is wacky at times
For comparison, @AnkurJ and I both bid and lost out on this 1885-O MS62 CAC Morgan which ended up selling for $1,525.00 on March 2, 2014.
What did these two coins have in common? Both were sold by greattoning / @MrD.
@MrD - do you still have the photos for the 1885-O MS62 CAC? It would be great to have them here.

Current link shows a Morgan with no tarnish at all... the original link must have closed .... Cheers, RickO
Since it's in a NGC holder, a crack out and quick dip before sending it in to PCGS should help it's eye appeal a lot.
The link I clicked was for a 01-0 Morgan in a ICG holder was pretty ugly.
Thank you. That confirms my suspicion that you weren’t commenting on the coin which was the original subject of this thread. It became confusing, once the coin sold and the link started taking some of us to a different listing.
