Well, for collectors on these boards it really is. For Ebay, this is a "choice", "rare", "Gem".
You know in the movies when the hero is tied up on an assembly line and at the end is a big machine that is cutting and smashing everything...then he barely escapes with a second to spare? This coin did not escape that.

When looking for key date Seated Quarters on eBay, you know, just to look, I have a great laugh. They’re doozies.
Run over by road graders, re-engraved in awful detail renditions, plugged, burned, etc.
Even 10 foot poles wouldn’t touch them with 10 foot poles.
But yeah, that Walker is roached.We're all born MS70. I'm about a Fine 15 right now.5 -

Picked it up in Milwaukee about 15 years ago. I don't know what anything is worth anymore? It is a great conversation piece and I enjoy it. I think the fellow I bought it from cut it out and gave the eagle to his wife or girlfriend, Just my guess. It is probably on a necklace somewhere. I'd like to have a chance to buy it.

The Gobrecht Dollar in the custom holder has to be the worst, but this 1848 CAL. has to be a close second. I admit to having posted this a few times.
Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?10 -

Just fooling. This is a virtual cut-out I did a few years ago for an exhibit.

I used to have a heavily corroded '14-D cent. About the only thing that was distinct was the date.
I have an 1822 dime with two bends across the date making it hard to discern the date.
I recently saw a 1796 half dime in startlingly nice AU condition with a large hole.

Most coin collectors do not have, and never will have a genuine Gobrecht Dollar (Including me). At least you have one! I had a chance to buy an 1844 half cent (Proof only issue), one time that looked like a train ran over it. It would be fun to know the history of the coins shown.
