Anybody notice the 73-CC quarter in Heritage's upcoming auction?

I can't resist Vern. Here's how it used to look.

Interesting. Or just a lighting effect? Very curious.

    It’s not the lighting.

The image on HA says it is invalid. Has it been removed? If so, wonder why?

Regulated - Interesting what lighting (or Photoshop) can do.

Jim - Would like to have seen the display.

Doug - Since I've seen it in hand, I can't guess the grade. It seems that's what our hosts did tho.

The 1839-o is an example of V-2B:
Obverse 19 repunched south, date far right.
Reverse cracks at T2, O to LM.
    Small o low, left.

The 1843 half dime with bisecting reverse crack which Vern posted is the "newer" shattered reverse,
described by @MrHalfDime (Stephen Crain) in his 2015 article in Gobrecht Journal #122.
I called the above early/middle die state V-7u in my attribution guide.

There is a later die state V-7ua with horizontal cracks added.

1875p - An extremely tough underrated date to find original problem free examples. Especially in circulated grades. I’ve owned this one for a few years now and have not needed to upgrade her . She is crusty original exactly how I like my TD’s

My latest purchase. Only a PCGS 62, but for the price vs the aesthetic appeal of the coin, I feel like this is the holy grail grade (and the MS63).

Low MS grades are where it is at! You still have two nickels to rub together and you often get a fabulous coin.
