2019 W Cent - Ordering 100?

Perhaps a bug? Ordering only the 2019 W Cents and Envelopes from the Mint is available... for now.

Must be some sort of error, no way are they selling them for 1C ea.

    Collector, occasional seller

Is it just me or does the mint site have too many options for searches? Not the most new user friendly site.

The ordering link is in the ATB Voyageurs National Park 2018 Uncirculated Five Ounce Silver Coin menu.

After adding to bag you can increment the amount. I did an order and we shall see if it actually ships. CC was hit.

Probably is an error/bug but... interesting, nevertheless. And it was only $2 (free shipping).

It will not allow a checkout. Lol. I tried. :D
After several attempts it finally went through. This should be interesting

    Confirmation email arrived

  • HemisphericalHemispherical Posts: 9,370 ✭✭✭✭✭

Received confirmation email. Now waiting for the “shipped” or “oops” email. ;):D

If the orders actually ship, we will have been extremely lucky, or the W cents will have an extremely low future premium.

I must be blind....I can't find it by itself...not even with putting in what appears to be the product number from the pic in the 1st post.....

I get them when I put in a proof set, but they are greyed out, in a 1-1 with the proof set. So, 1 proof set = 1 unchangeable penny and penny envelope.
    Can't alter it by itself

  • MattTheRileyMattTheRiley Posts: 806 ✭✭✭✭

I don't see the cent for sale individually.

Envelope shows up that way, Penny itself didn't....
I do see the difference in how I saw it before and how it shows up if you can get the "also purchased with" bit.

  • BochimanBochiman Posts: 25,766 ✭✭✭✭✭

May be watching this thread, or someone may have called to tried to order and told them how they were trying to get to it.....I no longer have anything (mobile nor desktop) showing up in the "also purchased with" area....

Or, it could just be me, my account, my systems....

If you get them, congrats. I wanted to grab about 25 or so, as cool, cheap, YN, gifts, and to keep a couple for ourselves, but, it is unlikely.

    Problem fixed with PFSWeb. Cancelled.

  • Schmitz7Schmitz7 Posts: 771 ✭✭✭

Thanks for the heads-up. My order shows "processing" and my card has been hit. I wonder how long it will take before they decide to cancel. I didn't order 100 though so maybe my lesser quantity will actually be delivered. :)

  • BigABigA Posts: 2,715 ✭✭✭✭

    Orders cancelled

So this is a dead issue now? I looked and did not see any of the links or access. Any updates? :(

The ordering link was removed and looks like any orders placed has been or will be cancelled.

  • GluggoGluggo Posts: 3,566 ✭✭✭✭✭

Sorry Hemispherical that would of been neat to get a small bag with 100 pennies in it. Wonder if they would of wanted it back after delivery? :D

  • rickoricko Posts: 98,724 ✭✭✭✭✭

That would have been a great deal... I imagine all orders will be cancelled...Sure would have reduced any premium on the W cent sales though... Cheers, RickO

Shipping notice, no mention of modification to my order, they just deleted the cents. Bastages :s

I think the 1919-W proof will be just another proof cent. I mean it will be no rarer than the S-mint examples. I would like to see a 1919-W cent offered in the mint set as a "set only" issue, especially if it is offered in bronze, not copper coated zinc. Now that would be a scarcer item.

The US Mint Returns Department stole a returned 1 oz BU Gold Eagle from me in 2015. I still need a few big breaks to make up for that incident. Too bad I'm not one of the Lucky Ones that got in on this Mint screw up , it would have made up for my loss a little. Perhaps it's because of screwups like this one that they need to rip off others - to try to adjust the Books ?

WELL, congratulations to those that did benefit from this "gift" from the US Mint. It doesn't directly benefit me, but it sort of makes my loss seem a bit easier to accept.

    😖

Full Strike really sorry for your loss. The Mint also got me for a return but it was only a $20.00 incident. Claimed they refunded me when no such monies was ever returned to my credit card. When I tried to get them to pay up they told me I had to show proof from my credit card company. It ended up being more trouble than it was worth over 20 bucks. Again very sorry you went through that in 2005.

I am also having second thought about sending the 2019 W penny in for grading. $120.00 for 3 pennies makes me wonder is it really worth it?

    Coin grading costs.

I posted this in someone elses thread and it took way too long to find it. Re-posting in my thread so I can find it easier and do the pro/con analysis of sending coins for grading/encapsulation.

    Key:
number of cents: per coin fee total + processing fee + insurance + USPS Small Priority box that comes with $50 mailing insurance = total cost (average cost per cent)

    1: 16 + 10 + 22 + 7.35 = 55.35 (55.35)

    5: 80 + 10 + 27 + 7.35 = 119.35 (23.97)

    10: 160 + 10 + 27 + 7.35 = 204.35 (20.44)

    20: 320 + 10 + 27 + 7.35 = 364.35 (18.21)

    50: 800 + 10 + 33.25 + 7.35 = 850.60 (17.01)

    99: 1584 + 10 + 45.60 + 7.35 = 1646.95 (16.47)

    100 (bulk): 1200 + 45.85 + 7.35 = 1263.20 (12.63)

Note: Does not include Gold Shield, TrueView, or First Strike.

If you actually had 100 to submit, you would be better off submitting as a bulk order and it would be less than $16.63 per coin.
