XF/AUish. Lots of wear on the high points and lacks luster.

Based on that picture I believe it would grade XF-45. I absolutely love this coin. I collect double eagles and love the 1850. Congratulations!

Based on the luster, AU-50. I suspect that the coin looks better than the picture does.

Photos seem to make it more dull than it actually is in hand I would imagine.

Nice coin... congrats! I'd say XF45, shot these days at AU, depending on luster in hand.

I'm in the 45 camp... shot at 50. I agree with Bill... this is an historic coin, and when I do the gold page for my type set, it would be a most welcomed addition.

Since there are so few Mint State examples of the 1850 Twenty it does make it likely that this one is XF or AU as almost all have agreed, but I especially like that it does not have distracting marks on the cheek as many have or a baggy appearance generally.

    A nice specimen.

I like the raised gold along the edge from 3 to 6 o'clock.

AU53-55. Luster is probably better than the pics show. Seems to be little actual wear on the coin.

The coin is so cool and looks low Au. PS 1850 Double eagle is close to the first year and is the first year issued into circulation but it is not the first year minted. Only one was minted in 1849 and it resides in the Smithsonian.
