Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?
Based on the luster, AU-50. I suspect that the coin looks better than the picture does.

I'm in the 45 camp... shot at 50. I agree with Bill... this is an historic coin, and when I do the gold page for my type set, it would be a most welcomed addition.
Collecting: Dansco 7070; Middle Date Large Cents (VF-AU); Box of 20;
Since there are so few Mint State examples of the 1850 Twenty it does make it likely that this one is XF or AU as almost all have agreed, but I especially like that it does not have distracting marks on the cheek as many have or a baggy appearance generally.
The coin is so cool and looks low Au. PS 1850 Double eagle is close to the first year and is the first year issued into circulation but it is not the first year minted. Only one was minted in 1849 and it resides in the Smithsonian.

XF/AUish. Lots of wear on the high points and lacks luster.
Today, AU-50.
Yesterday, EF-45.
It's an historic coin that I would like own.
Based on that picture I believe it would grade XF-45. I absolutely love this coin. I collect double eagles and love the 1850. Congratulations!
EF. Nice honest wear from use.
High xf to low au.
XF to AU...But still a nice coin that I would like to have... Cheers, RickO

Photos seem to make it more dull than it actually is in hand I would imagine.
AU50 and I too like and appreciate it for what it is.....if someone wants a nice shiny high grade one, go
get a 1904.....

Nice coin... congrats! I'd say XF45, shot these days at AU, depending on luster in hand.

I love those. It’s one of my favorite issues, and I have owned several over the years.
I agree with the XF to AU grades that have already been posted and I really like the coin.
50/53
I'll go XF45 but still Excellent in any collection.

AU-Smoething.
I like the raised gold along the edge from 3 to 6 o'clock.
Let us know when you know.
AU53-55. Luster is probably better than the pics show. Seems to be little actual wear on the coin.
50 here.
XF, very nice !!!
