Your collecting preferences, a comprehensive poll

An anonymous poll to gauge collection preferences.

Hopefully comprehensive. I had 18 options but 10 is the limit.

How do you prefer your coins? Or to collect your coins

I've kind of morphed in the last few years. I was a "any holder, I don't care" guy for a long time. But either from reading this forum, or by "storing" my collection on the PCGS registry, or through a newly-developed OCD affliction....I really do prefer that everything be in a PCGS holder. :)

I'll buy other holders and/or raw....but I have been trying to get them into PCGS, as time goes by.

I can't answer. I prefer PCGS, but I will buy an NGC graded coin if I like it. I don't buy expensive raw U.S. coins. I did buy them when I was a dealer.

So far tokens, medals and foreign coins go, I will be PCGS, NGC or Raw.

My preference is PCGS (but not only). However, I will pickup the right coin in a NGC slab. I'll also buy the right coins (at a huge discount to sheet) in other plastic but will immediately cross to PCGS. A CAC sticker is optional but to be honest, I'd rather send them in for beans myself since the coin purchase price is always cheaper without the sticker in my experience. :)

I prefer PCGS but will buy NGC. I don't care if it has a sticker or not.

    I avoid ANACS, ICG, etc.

For my collection, I’ll buy what I like, raw or any slab. I only have two sets that are far enough along that I’ve actually committed to a single grading service, and for which I will bother with crossovers. One is PCGS, the other NGC.

PCGS preferred, NGC if I like the coin. Must straight grade. ANACS if I love the coin.

I just collect what I like at that time.

Whatever I can turn a buck on. I no longer "collect" due to gradeflation and insider grading

I collect what I like... It is always the coin....any holder or none, sticker or no sticker....The coin is my focus. Cheers, RickO

Prefer PCGS but like NGC enough to not bother crossing. Both PCGS and NGC work for me.
If raw and sending in, PCGS only...

Any coins I like slabbed or raw. If submit - PCGS.

Plastic or lack thereof is no barrier to a purchase. I generally prefer to have all of my coins ultimately cross to PCGS because I prefer the holders, especially for proof coins with contrasts and for smaller coins. I think the PCGS slab is optically superior. One notable exception would be non-Morgan PL coins which stay in NGC holders mostly.

For me, NGC and PCGS only for graded coins (some CAC some not), occasional raw coins if I'm buying late 1700's copper.

I prefer a graded coin because I am not a professional when it comes to having an authentic coin. I do like raw coins from trusted professional dealers or from experience collectors.

Prefer PCGS, but I will buy NGC for American coins.

When it comes to foreign coins, tokens and medals, I prefer raw. If I have to buy certified, I prefer NGC.

CAC comes along for the ride for me. I don't care if it's there or not.
