Offered the 1955-p MS67+ pop 3 Washington qtr that went for moon money at HA last month

A dealer / up grader offered me the 55-p Washington ms 67+. He has not tried the coin yet still in it’s original CAC endorsed holder. Saw my wanted to buy ads and offered it to me. Coin on its way on approval. Hope it is as nice as described. I have done many transactions with him in past...

12K for that?
A real good way to lose money is to buy finest known moderns. Remember the finest known 53 S Full Bell Franklin? History has a habit of repeating itself.

The surfaces are very clean for the grade. I'm glad that it worked out for you.
If the "crackout" dealer truly thought it was ms68 would he flop it to you as is?
If you looked at the coin and thought it was a lock ms68 would you offer him a 50% profit?
Joebb "summed it up" plain and simple

When I was trying to make the condition scarcity pop 2/0 1981-S SBA $1 in MS67, I submitted a coin to PCGS I personally pulled from a mint set back in 1982 or 1983. It came back MS66+. A serious SBA collector wanted the coin and I told him I personally graded the coin MS67. I offered it for around the half way point in value between MS66+ and MS67 (if anything, maybe closer to 60% of the way in price to MS67). He bought it from me without even asking to see it first and further asked me to submit it for him at my next event. I did and it regraded MS67 the first time through. I was happy for him. I made plenty of money on the coin. Win-win.
Wondercoin.
Certainly looks solid for the grade, CAC or not...
