How often have you found 50 or more items in a Coinstar reject slot?

291fifth291fifth Posts: 25,170 ✭✭✭✭✭

I have done that six times, with my record being 104 items at one time (in this case all were US coins including 77 nickels but unfortunately no silver). Just yesterday I found 26 items in a machine that is usually a dud - in that case it was a mix of US, Canadian and foreign coins.

All glory is fleeting.

30 items are about my largest Coinstar find, but it was less than seventy-five cents in face value.

Recently I always strike out. In the past, maybe twice, has been more than a handful of clad. I didn't count the pieces though. I haven't found silver in years.

Once I found dozens of coins - all silver dimes and quarters - about $14 and change face value. B)

    It pays to check.

I have never found a Coinstar Machine. I guess I live too far out in the sticks.

I have found maybe 10 at most but in that haul there was large silver in the form of a walking liberty half dollar.

Found like $3+ dollars one time in mostly pennies-practically spilling out of the reject bin onto the floor. I had two bags of groceries in my hand and shorts with no belt- filled my pockets with them and nearly lost my shorts by time I got to the car!

I'm sure that you are slim and trim, but the visual I got was not a pretty one :D

I think I hv the record. ..at 1550 coins.

Yes, as in one thousand five hundred fifty coins. That visual picture of coins pulling down your pants is very real!

My weirdest find was two fistfuls of foreign coins. The 6 euros and change I took to Slovakia and used them. The 6 Singapore dollars and two Hong Kong dollars are collecting dust.

I've found about $4 in nickels and dimes once, no silver.

But the best was in the fall of last year, at the credit union I found $10 in quarters - all silver from 1937-1964.

I found just shy of $40 at once. Didn't count the number of coins but yes, my pant pockets and jacket pockets were full. It was at the grocery next to my hearing center. I'd go mid morning and get a starbucks there and check on the way out. I think my best there had been less than a dollar. I could not actually believe how much you can get in that return bin.....amazing.

Around 20 coins in one scoop has been my max.

Since starting to look at the Coinstar machines, I've hauled in two silver Roosies, a few clad quarters, and the rest Lincolns, Canadian, Euros, and foreign junk.

Nothing to make CNN news yet. :D

Never 50 but 25 to 50 several times!!!

I've found some circulated U.S. silver and some wheats but probably my most valuable find was a group with two toonies (Canada $2 coins)...

Today I found 11 Zincolns, a 1929 Wheat, a sticky dime, a Canadian quarter and a 1959-D Roosie. But from a couple of different machines since I shop more than one store.

Once, and only once, did I find in excess of 50 coins... it was, I believe, 57. Mostly cents, a few dimes (one silver) a couple of nickels...and a few foreign coins. It was a jackpot though... Mostly just a few coins though. Cheers, RickO
