Just got a consignment solicitation from Heritage.

Upcoming CSNS auction. All sorts of coins and paper money. Medium to higher end.
US and foreign.
Have they been sending listing solicitation magazines for a long time?

This is first one I've seen.

..??

I get them on rare occasion. I consigned my collection to them 10 years ago and that was the only time I sold through them.

Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.

Mine is a minuscule ....... no offer whatsoever. Did you get the offer ballpark range?

I get them before every major auction. I'm not sure why. Most of my business with them has been in buying.

That's exactly why. When you dispose of the coin they want to make sure you do it through them.

    +1.

Since I've been buying through their auctions for close to 20 years, I've been getting regular solicitations for close to 20 years.

They are sking me to consign constantly.

Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

I get them all the time.

It is 25% for most I believe which is almost as much as the taxman gets (luxury good tax is 28%). That's crazy.

WHAT did you say you'd allow for trade-in on my Pontiac Aztek? ;)

I guess what surprised me was the example pix of some pretty modest "collector" coins.

I'm curious to know where this 29% comes from since, every time I've consigned, I've gotten hammer plus a piece of the buyer's charge.

20% buyers commish is a major road block for me as far as sending in consignments, I know the buyer pays it...... lol.

Who pays it? No matter how you choose to calculate the vig, it comes out of the seller's proceeds.

The seller pays it - every time.

(And HA has been soliciting me for more years than I care to admit. Shows how old I am I guess!)

20 % heritage juice …….. a deal breaker for sellers

What % you get of hammer as a consignor depends on your coins and the deal you strike with the auction company. This is true with all auction companies.

    "Seu cabra da peste,
    "Sou Mangueira......."
