Great coin! Was he a W&M grad? 1693 was the year the college was founded.

He graduated from Case Western in the 40’s. No idea whether the date had any significance for him. He lived in London for a number of years back in the 60’s and 70’s, so my best guess is that it’s just another one of the interesting items he accumulated along the way.
