I finally gave a few of my coins to Ian at FUN. Have been wanting to try him for a while. Will be FUN to watch what happens with them. A couple of the nicer ones are:

I agree. Not that I'm a player but I'm curious what the 1884 MS69 gold dollar is gonna hammer at.
Nice coin!!

nice
The quality is improving at GC. A ways to go yet, but for the auction fees, best to consign while the going is good.
They're going to need to improve their customer service skills. Won an expensive item last week and asked for a shipping update. Nothing but crickets.
Ian keeps hitting home runs. Consigned a group of coins a few months ago. Listed and paid quickly. Results were very good.
Hi - sorry you didn't get a response. Did you phone us or e-mail? Could you please let me know your e-mail address (by private message) and I'll respond later today or tomorrow morning. Or e-mail me directly at ian@greatcollections.com.

Yeah, I think GC is great. My last two significant additions came from there, both really nice coins I'm very psyched to own, and if I were to need to liquidate under present conditions they'd be absolutely my first choice. They're in my "If I should happen to get hit by a bus" instructions to my wife.
Thanks Ian. I'll send you an email.
Love their site! It has EASILY become my number one source for finding coins. Their customer service is great! In fact, I got an email from "the man" about a coin I was bidding on. Also, I pay on Sunday, coins in hand on Thursday!
Still waiting to get the coin I won on Heritage a week ago.
I pay GC right after I win the coin and they have it out the next day. GC will also send out an email with the tracking number to let you know when they have sent it.
A lower buyers fee with better pictures and the return privilege makes it a no brainer compared to Heritage.
Competition keeps everyone honest. The fees at the bigs have gotten out of hand these past few years. GC is prompt. When consigning, I have a check in-hand within a week of an auction closing. It always clears too.
Their service is top notch. Let Ian know like he said above.
Had a great night selling on Great Collections tonight. Two weeks ago, I sent a letter complaining to eBay that because of them allowing junk to be posted month after month and not imposing any incentive (time limit for listings or minor listing fees for long time listers) serious collectors are buying at Great Collections and average collectors like me are no longer selling coins on eBay because with fewer serious collectors, I get lower prices. I also stated that because of their policies, I must wait longer for my coins to be listed at Great Collections due to higher submissions GC now gets . To prove I was not just complaining, I sent them a copy of my GC submission acceptance. I know only some intern will read my letter and nothing will change - but I felt I just had to say something. Go Great Collections!

I browse GC but haven't bought anything. I see more and more world coins being listed which I'm happy about! I'm sure one of these days I'll bid on some stuff.
Many members on this forum that now it cannot fit in my signature. Please ask for entire list.
Yup. Picked up a $5 gold tonight. It will be here Wednesday. Stuff from Heritage takes 8 or 9 days.
I agree---I have nothing but good things to say about their service and friendliness.
They are there to answer any questions, and are prompt to return calls/emails.
Plus, you can send in raw coins and have them slabbed and sold VERY reasonably.
edited for stupid auto correct nonsense
eBay won't care unless GC starts listing Dust Busters.
1884 MS -69 ,,,,pop 1 ,,,,,, went for $90,000,,,, the 1895 Morgan Prf went for $82,700, with the juice
Glad to hear the continued good news with GC. It's an amazing success story in our hobby. Congrats to @ianrussell!
Wow just think the Average American wage is 43,000.00 for 1 year of hard work. While a coin sells for more than 2 years worth of wage in one sale. That’s crazy.
That does even include the State and Federal taxes that would have to be added. I think I will keep to my $20, 30 to 100.00 buys and enjoy my 39K wage.
Congrats to the sellers
PCGS Price Guide says $15,000 so we'll find out soon.
Great Collections has it listed as the #1 featured coin right now which is nice.
Yes getting the landing page is great! The nice thing is I get a cut of this as I dropped it off for Wabbit at PCGS
I got to view this coin in the raw and It’s all there for a 67. Great coin

Fellas, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pockets you better use them to call a tailor. Stay thirsty my friends......
For the hell of it, JA should have put a gold sticker on it.
Sounds like things have picked up over there. Perhaps I was early to the game but I was disappointed in the results of a few CAC beaned coins 12 months ago. Saw they later were flipped and sold for more on ebay. Perhaps the tide has turned now.

A PNG dealer told me in 2016 that Heritage doesn't really want to bother with sub $250 coins. I don't know if it is true or not but the fee structure certainly indicates it.
Financially, buying and selling low value coins is increasingly a losing proposition. Higher auction commissions, eBay raising seller fees and increased cost of grading and postage increasingly work against it. I have never collected primarily with a profit motive but this has also impacted what I now buy. I will still buy coins where I know or believe I will lose money at resale, but it has to be one I really like to do it. It's increasingly become more expensive to "rent" coins just to own it temporarily.
You will need a larger population sample to conclude if your experience is representative.
I thought that big candy bar covered the fees. Dang! Check is in the mail.
I agree GC provides superior service and as a buyer I have nothing but praise to offer. I would, however like to see their exonumia offerings grow. Their tokens and medals just don't bring strong enough prices yet for me to consider consigning anything to them. Maybe exonumia isn't part of their longer-term business plan, but one can hope....

Same for world coins.
How soon after GC accepted your consignment were they listed?
striking ,very nice coin,, best wishes
Speaking for mine, I gave them to Ian at FUN on Friday and they were live last week.
Nah, we are all even. I should have just bought the damn coin from you.

Of the four coins, one went up in a few days the other three were listed a week later.
All coins were well imaged.
...great competition to higher juice houses...
I've frequented many higher juice houses and let me tell you, after two or three they all taste the same.
I buy most of my coins at GC-always great service and fast shipping. 90% of the time I can pay on Wed and the coins come on Saturday so I can sign for them at home. No trips to the post office!
I have bought from GC in the recent past and have been very pleased.

Cool coin/ I see my 'check bid' has already been blown out!
Hmmmm. I gave a consignment of 25 PCGS coins to Ian on Thursday at FUN....and have yet to see any listed.
I've bought well over 50 coins from GC going back to 2016 and before. Some of my favorite coins in my collection have come from there and I pay on Sunday/Monday and my coins are delivered to my PO box (in New England) by Thursday/Friday of that week. Always happy doing business with them! I have definitely seen better materials, stronger prices and more bids over the last 6-12 months.
Two suggestions I have for @ianrussell are:
Well Ian, I hate to say it, but you need a secretary or something. I called you a few months back to talk about a small consignment ... gave you my email ... you said you were gonna send me some forms ... and then nada. Color me unimpressed.
Having said that, I am enjoying seeing a great selection of coins to bid on!
Kind regards,
George
Hi George,
Sorry about that. Can you please e-mail me your e-mail address so I can look into this? ian@greatcollections.com.
