Going through the ultra-dreck... a discovery!

I have a couple of cardboard boxes which are full of the very very low end and face value stuff. Last three years+ residue from older collections/estates. Gotta absolutely must do some cleaning, gee I hate that...
I found this old envelope:
It DID NOT have a nickel in it!
Dated 1861!
I had absolutely no idea!

WOW!! I can just imagine the look on your face when you saw it. Probably couldn't believe what you were seeing.
@MWallace The two words spoken aloud were "Well (proverbial material)".
I've won a nice gold coin in a club raffle at a big regional show, over twenty years ago. I have never ever found a gold coin out of the clear blue ether!
Nice find. Looks like 81.
That’s the nicest Buffalo nickel that I have seen in ages!
serendipity do da
No, it would have to be an 1861. The 1881 dollars have a larger date.
But I also have to say that I have some reservations this piece. I'm not sure that it is real.
In hand, it looks like a six not an eight.
My lighting arrangement is something between passable and sucks. In hand, the piece looks pretty good. That said, I have more experience looking at Type 1 pieces. The reverse has more wear, consistent with jewelry use.
Ok ok @BillDugan1959 , you've twisted my arm hard enough, I'll give you a couple of bucks for that "Nickel", I will pm you my address where to send it!
Nice unexpected find!
@ParlousJoe And the dreck box yielded $16 in face value stuff too.
Damn Buddy @BillDugan1959 it's your lucky day! Keep looking, you just might find a Saint! \
It's always fun to g0 back and look at coins that you have had for years and don't remember that you had them or know that you had them like in your case lol Keep digging buddy, it's like Christmas day for you!
Well, elsewhere in cleaning, I found a three coin 1987 Constitution set, which I thought had been sold. That was nice. But that's not the same as this thingie, which was a complete bit of serendipity.
Wow... If that is real, it is an amazing find...Treasures within one's junk pile.... Cheers, RickO
Sweet find!

Congratulations, William! Would it be worth getting fixed by "coin restoration service" etc.?
No, this piece has too much wear. You could go out and find a slabbed, undamaged equivalent (or better!) for less than what restoration services would cost. This is just a lucky bit of jewelry gold.
Very nice, congratulations !!!
Now go find the rest of them that were in that bracelet.
