No way! Bourbons back? At least their doing something right. I'll be in about 10 or 11 tomorrow boss, okay!
No need to study anything. No need to remember anything. No need to appreciate value. Just look up the auction records, think quickly, decide, and move on.

Is the coin market on a cellphone?
...to deal and flip, yes...to collect, no...most collectors need to study so they can better understand their passions...it’s hard to feed what you don’t know...everything else you wrote is fine by me...smart money says to utilize the technologies we have today as it leaves more time to hustle and play
...edit to add this cause it’s real prospective: I know some pretty-low-IQ stoners...and every one of them could write a book with their knowledge of marijuana strains and what they do for them and their ailments...I’m not kidding so we can’t sell any coin collector short as I am sure they study in some fashion...but it may not be like how we study. That’s all
Of course it is.

Oh, Bourbon is a Thing! They're doing interesting stuff with different barrels and aging conditions. Craft distilleries are red hot with Millennials.

It really ticked me off around 40 years ago, when Yuppies found out about single malt scotches, and pushed the price of things like a good Macallen from $13/fifth to over $40. We won't talk about the 18 and 25 year old...
They better not do the same thing to bourbon. Knob Creek is my go to sippin' liquor. (Though I'm pretty sure Jim Beam will keep the supply flowing...)
Mmmm. Macallen and sushi.

They apparently buy a lot of NCLT (especially silver). There is little if anything to study there numismatically. Mostly just to try to determine which one will appreciate in value the most. If they don't pay the inflated values so many coins currently have, that will hardly be a negative. It will be an improvement.
Yes, neither the millennials at my office, nor the coin market, pays a bit of attention to my instructions! Both are hard-headed with minds of their own!
I'm technically a millennial :'( . A very elder millennial.

I agree with you, except for the value appreciation bit. I still see the younger slice of numismatic community appreciating value of a coin.
We now live in the age of information where ignorance is becoming a choice. The importance of remembering specialized information is fading and being replaced by the importance of remembering where to find the information when you need it. Millennial's head may not be filled with memorized passages and formulas, but with experiences - people, places, feelings. Is it better? Worse? Just different? No idea, except that the way we access, consume and share information will continue to evolve.
Millennials don't plug holes. They hug polls.

C'mon guys. This low-hanging fruit. Some of us millennials are half competent. Plus it's not fair to compare those with 40 years of experience to those with 10 or 20.

I was joking and took the "noun" out of context. Carry on, friends.
In reality, with ancients, I suspect the coin market is in it's third millennial.

About a week ago, I stopped into the local pub to get a quick burger on the way to a meeting. While sitting at the bar, I listened to three 'millennials' next to me discussing the qualities of draft beers - using all the terms associated with wine tasting...
No discussion of coins though...
