I thought no one else is trying to build an Eliasaberg-like type set?

Is it even possible for anyone to beat it without buying a significant number of coins from PRC.

that was my question--is it mathematically impossible to beat?

The impressive type set will be the proof set, if and when it is completed.

I think if he buys high deserts set it might be possible, otherwise not. Thats for the mixed one (proof and MS), the MS set he cant beat. Proof type set can be his number one.

Looking at these sets really puts things in perspective. I am the only collector ATS that has a complete type set, as they define it, from the half cent through the $20 gold, with the classic commemoratives, silver and gold, thrown in for good measure. Still I can’t come close competing with the top three over here here.

Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

Perhaps not. Grade inflation rises all coins although not equally. :)

I love being jealous of my own collection. :):):):):)

Q: When does a collector become a numismatist?

A: The year they spend more on their library than their coin collection.

A numismatist is judged more on the content of their library than the content of their cabinet.

Awesome PRCC. You know I am strong buyer of the early copper. I am coming in locked and loaded to buy at the sale....I know you'll be back soon and you will clean my clock again......

I am a huge admirer of your Type set. The one thing you know to do: pay up for the best quality.
