80% Canada Halves.....would you?.....I did, pics added in first thread.

I can pick up 8 rolls of 1960s 80% Canada halves (howling wolf) for melt. They look like proofs but I’m not too familiar with Canadian. Specimens?

What do you think? Hard to move or easy score?

Well I went ahead and bought five rolls at 82 per roll just to put up. Got the roll of common dollars too, 16 each.

Hopefully silver won’t drop too much more as I’m buying all I can now

    Hard for me to move after I had hoarded some although I eventually sold and even realized a slight profit.

    Disclaimer: I was trying to move locally in Texas where Canadian doesn't sell well although the silver market was quite a bit hotter then, than it is now.

    I have since moved much farther north where Canadian is much more common but in todays market I personally wouldn't touch unless you can purchase 10 maybe even 20% back of spot.

    Are you sure that they are not unc. "proof like?" I can't find any references to proofs. Either way you did fine at melt.

    If a 67 half tones from the rim inward it can be very attractive. Same goes for the dollar. Stay away from the dimes and quarters of that year unless you pay 50% silver rate for them.

    Unless it was very close to melt value I'd pass on that deal.

    Worry is the interest you pay on a debt you may not owe.

    The only Canadian silver I buy at melt or less is pre 1920. I use it for lost wax casting.

    The most money I made are on coins I haven't sold.

    Looks like a fair deal at $82/roll. With 6 troy ounces per roll you're in them at under $14 oz.
