Are you a net provider or net recipient of numismatic information on this forum?

I know I learn a lot more coin stuff on the site than share.
Some great minds reside here.

I'm always picking up new stuff here, but it's more important to me to try to share what I know (or think I know).
Pete
Net recipient. A lot to learn and each time I learn something new I end up going off on some weird tangent that are even more eye opening.
Well, many provide opinions, some provide observations, some provide facts....I try to provide a little of each when possible, but there is no way any one person is providing more than the forum as a whole, so color me net recipient.
I'm net neutral.....................oh wait , that's for the internet service
I sure do learn a lot here, about coins, people, and life in general
Successful transactions with : MICHAELDIXON, Manorcourtman, Bochiman, bolivarshagnasty, AUandAG, onlyroosies, chumley, Weiss, jdimmick, BAJJERFAN, gene1978, TJM965, Smittys, GRANDAM, JTHawaii, mainejoe, softparade, derryb, Ricko
Bad transactions with : nobody to date
Well I read far more threads than I post so I guess that would put me in the Net recipient camp. I typically pickup "something" reading thru the posts of the day. My favorite threads are often GTG... A good test (not great) of grading skills. It's eye opening by the range of guesses and comments.
Usually a provider, but I have learned a lot here too.
I am a net recipient.... I am always looking for new information....been a lifelong habit. Whatever I become involved in, I seek knowledgeable sources so I can learn more. I do contribute when I can... The coin hobby is so diverse, with different coins, metals, mints, grading, errors, varieties, history etc., etc.,.... No one knows everything and never will. That is one of the aspects that make the hobby so interesting. Cheers, RickO
Would say 2 way street.
There are a lot of things learned / picked up info on here.
As far as any net balance - clueless. Most likely in favor of info gained here.
More getting and learning than I can offer back.
Recipient here.
Recipient for sure.
Reminds me of Christmas. I remember having the thought when I went from being a net recipient at Christmas to being a net giver. Being the giver is definitely better.
I came here three months ago to learn information and the culture. And that is working. I am too green to contribute new knowledge. The best I have to offer is the perspective of a newcomer trying to learn the rules, values, and culture of today's coin collecting - and the journey of trying to discover what he values for himself.
My strategy is about collecting what I intend to keep, not investing in what I plan to sell.
Probably a net recipient, but not for lack of trying.

"Keep in mind that most of what passes as numismatic information is no more than tested opinion at best, and marketing blather at worst. However, I try to choose my words carefully, since I know that you guys are always watching." - Joe O'Connor

I've learned a lot about both numismatics and psychology from this forum. This forum is a gold mine for the latter.
I am approx. 77/23 recipient/provider. Although I am not sure if I am providing worthy info though.

My goal is to be net neutral.
What is now proved was once only imagined. - William Blake
..... and on the provider part; only give aways contest
Don't be so humble - the giveaways are just the tip of the iceberg.
I strive to be both.

I am no doubt a net recipient but by being willing to receive information I am providing others who have knowledge the opportunity to share it.
Anyone can learn, and if someone sees themselves as solely a provider and never a recipient then they have become boring and might as well change their name to Google or Siri.
A teacher needs a student, and a willing student makes the teacher a better person.
Net recipient - but isn't that the point? With few exceptions, an individual can't match the knowledge of a group. But contribute what you can and we should all benefit.

In general, I'm a net consumer of knowledge and the collective wisdom of the group, but I try to contribute where I can. Mostly this consists of eye-candy photos and what I know about a couple of series.
Hey uh, quick question...
80-20 learning vs sharing.
My YouTube Channel
Since collecting coins is such a diverse hobby, I suspect that most learn more than they teach. I'm always learning on this forum about coins and things I never dreamt. I hope I do add to your knowledge from time to time just as you add to mine.

Hard to say. I learn a lot and give back when I can. Never kept score.
I learn a lot from posters and use as much as possible in books and articles. The stuff I post is just "stuff" and miscellaneous bits-'n'-pieces.
I learn from everyone but the half dime guys have given me quite an education. I am thankful to all.
I'm a little on the shy side about sharing because I know there's people with expertise far, far beyond me who will chime in and expand on the matter better than I can.
Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.
You a def giver - humor is important and you sprinkle it nicely - with your ratio I see at 54.7%, which is freagin amazing.
Got two eyes and two ears, to go with my two sides. Only one mouth. Unfortunately I can't help these ten fingers from thinking aloud. I like to think reading and hearing teaches me way more than my mouth and hands teach others.

Net recipient, so many professionals on this forum. I contribute what I can when I can but nothing compared to what I learn here.

I’m definitely part of the infamous 47% club. I have taken more knowledge from here than I have given.
Edited in the name of Christmas being a couple weeks away.
I'm a net believer
More recipient for sure. A sponge can be a recipient. So can a lamprey or tapeworm, hopefully don't fall in that class!

Well, I can stop if that's what you want.

Mostly reading and learning. What little I have to provide, I probably received right here in years gone by..

Appreciative recipient. I check in here every day. Thank you all so much for the education and entertainment!
Recipient.
Oh, recipient for sure. I can soak up the knowledge for hours at a time here. Beyond that, the contacts and friends I've made here mean an awful lot to me.
Jeff
I think so
A humble recipient. I have learned a lot here and appreciate you all. Every time I think I have something profound to contribute, I read through the comments and see that someone has already offered the same information, so I just give them a Like or an Agree and move along.
