The so called "circle" is not always benign. Sometimes it manifests itself in a more banal pack mentality. Just ask BiddlesBank!
The "Circle of Trust" is terrific if you are a - member, but woe is he (or she) who crosses any member of the pack!

True [you are the wise Bear afterall ], but you have to admit there is something primal and unsavory in what passes for "social" conversation around here if you don't agree with the self-appointed literati. Those that have been posting since day-one. Those who have amassed tens of thousands of posts. Those who think that by their mere post-count or tenure that they have to have some special privilige of ownership of opinion on these boards.
And then there are those whose expertise and sheer ability to spend six figures on "real" coins for their collections and think that because of some self-imbued "birth-right" believe that they are better than everyone else. All these folks combined, although they are far from the majority, tend to congeal together to form a certain "circle" and many of these same individuals are part of the so-called "circle of trust".
Those who know me from my posts, know that I do not kowtow to such influence and pressure.
I know that the OP here makes light of the existence of a so-called "circle", but anyone who has been posting here for ahwile and who has been reading the threads here (if not posting), realizes that there is a certain vocal minority here who meet the afore-mentioned criteria and who tend to put-down those of differing opinion by numerous bullying tactics, including the pack, gang-mentality assaults.
I think I've been around just long enough to be tolerated by these types. But I don't personally tolerate bullying and there is often a pack-mentality around here sometimes that posture all too often under the guise of anonymity and their alter egos. I bet these same folks don't dare act with such afrontal when they attend Coin shows among whom they consider their own peers. There's a lot of elitism on these boards that escapes the critical eye that it deserves!
That's all I've got to say about that!

My first time seeing this thread. I have dealt with several members who I would consider in "my" circle of trust now. I have no clue who all the forum considers in the circle, lol.

I've been known to get hot and cold about things. That's part of it. I eventually do return to the things in my life that I truly love.
Like this place. I realize now that it is not a matter of which level you are at, but it is indeed about what you can contribute.
