Excellent coin, a great example of a silver plug with time period engraving style, though an amateur effort. I wouldn't mind owning a 1795 dollar like that, if I could afford it.

Nice. Sure, it's engraved but the engraving conveys specific meaning - not just blobs and unintelligible shapes. Have you learned anything about "AJB" ? (In the lower photo, the ornaments and letters suggest a left-handed engraver...)
Wasn't there an earlier thread about this monogram, and didn't we decide that it was Elias Boudinot's Aunt Fannie???

I love period engraved pieces.....wish I could afford more as most are considered damaged and cost a lot less than unengraved pieces. Of course, a provenance would pump the value sky high if it's the right person.

Welcome back! Always great commentary.
I have not seen that avatar in use for a while! I like the dollar, even with the mutilation. Nice looking coin.

Very cool piece; my wife is from Spain and the initials happen to be 3 of her 5

That is a great coin, and the graffiti would not bother me at all....plus, it is nicely done. Cheers, RickO
