I wonder how the seller would react if he got a legal notice from the ANA's lawyers notifying him that the item is counterfeit, quoting the US Code, and offering to sue him under the Hobby Protection Act?
But, then, ANA has go backbone for positive, direct action to curtail counterfeiting.
So that's how to preserve an $8,000 coin... in a 2x2 with staples?
Yep, and put a type 2 reverse on it.

Nice catch.... I wonder why ebay does not employ a couple of real coin experts to keep their listings clean.... Oh wait... I know... We do it for free!!
Cheers, RickO
cheeze, thats pretty bad.
Hey, what's wrong with you guys? The new, previously unknown variety ... rare prototype ... direct from China.
Maybe he has another one with the staples sticking out that will put a big scratch on this one. This one time when I approve of staple scratches and lots of them.
Already gone, thanks.

altered date or counterfeit?
My Early Large Cents
Counterfeit. The reverse is from the later type that was introduced in 1917. The whole thing is a fabrication.
