Happy Thanksgiving, everyone. As most of us are off today, there is some time between family gatherings and guests to reflect upon our collections.
Post a coin, medal, or token you are thankful to own!
Henry Clay, The Eloquent Defender of National Rights by Joseph Merriam (1860) NGC MS65 ex. John J. Ford

This is a rare piece, and one of the most eye appealing medals in my Merriam collection. Joseph Merriam struck these along with other medals of US Presidents, politicians and well known citizens of the day at the dawn of the US Civil War. All of his material is quite scarce, as he struck them in very limited quantities. Medals from his shop struck in solid silver are extremely rare, if not unique.
I'm thankful this one made its way to my collection a few years ago.
Thanks also go out to @Broadstruck for seeing this one in John Kraljevich's inventory and thinking of me.
