It would have to be a 67 or better if MS. or a 69 or better if PF to make it worth the while. Your pics are not good enough to determine the grade. Good luck,

You have a 1960 Proof Roosevelt Dime, and no it's worth spending the money on certification and postage to get it graded. If it had cameo devices on BOTH SIDES, it might be worth getting graded. If you don't know what "Cameo" means, think of the devices as looking like a piece of ice and the fields as a mirror. The contrast between the two can be very attractive, and on coins of that era, fairly scarce.

I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

it looks like a one-sided-proof. No contrast. I see a few whispy hairlines below the portrait. Nice orange toning over mellowing and propertly aged surfaces. Net graded MS64/PR66.

It's a common proof Roosevelt dime worth around $2. Keep it ungraded.

Now if it only had deep cameo contrast and high grade, it would be worth sending in.
    Here is one for comparison.

Keep it and put it in a PVC-free flip.

On second thought: flip that 1960 dime up on the air. If it lands heads, grade it. If not, keep it.
(Caveat: don't do so over a concrete floor.)

    7 No’s and 3 Maybe’s depending if it’s a proof cameo on both sides. I don’t collect those but I can count.

The gloves are worth more than the coin.

I think it might be a white coin with the white balance well off, which is just an educated guess.

Nice coin. Treat it to an Air-tite.

A nice coin... but not worth submitting... would look great in an album... or, if you want protection, an airtite or self slab. Cheers, RickO

no. These are declining due to very little demand. The clip has an example certification is more then the coin in the clip cost and its right up there with the top of the scale. Your coin would be a good start on a 1950-1964 silver proof dime set they look awesome together.

Glad to see someone wearing gloves for this. Usually it's bare fingers.

Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.

  • Thanks everyone for the imput. So im bout to post a 1952 s wheatback with the date 5 and 2 connected. Let me know what you a think. I jave not seen that before

Lose the gloves. You can't handle the coin, and the rough surfaces will hairline it. Just use your bare fingers holding it by the rim, and take pictures of it laying on a flat surface.
