    3 maybe 4.

    Not a 4 to me. I say 2 or 3 and I'll go 3.
My rationale is that the obverse looks 3+ and reverse looks 2+ or 3.

In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I'm already sending him money when he gets an address. If you wish, and you already did a GFM to him I'll send you my check and you can donate it to the page. :)

As for your challenge of a bet: Out of probably thirty bets about all things (games, elections, etc) I've lost everyone Except for perhaps 5! Everyone I work with tries to get me to bet on something. LOL. I've learned my lesson. Randy is the latest. I've lost $200 to him and our former grader Andy (ICG, NGC, PCGS) took me for $300.

Now let me defend my guess.

    1. It is graded by a TPGS.
    2. The rims are not full and touch the letters so many have guessed AG. Too much meat for that.
    3. Low-grade Commems' are uncommon so who knows for sure how they are graded.
    4. I would guess G-4 and probably grade it that way personally but IMO, there is enough design in the center to grade it higher as a G-4 coin is wiped smooth of its design.

No no no no wishy washy.....you gave the coin a 6, so stick with it & don’t change it to a 4.

Bottom line, you have rejected my bet.

They have a competitive set, with many nice examples pictured

Please READ MY REPLY AGAIN it is in English! IMO, the coin is in a G-6 holder. I didn't get to grade it, they did.

Additionally, if you have donated to the GFM page for CrazyH, PM me with your address and I'll send my donation thru you using a $60 check. I don't do online cash transfers of any kind. I'm old fashioned and like to walk into banks and pay by check rather than credit. :)

If the Grant is an AG-3, my guess of G-6 on the other coin is looking high. Now, I'm worried but it should not be graded AG in any case.

Are we gettin’ sensitive, 6, 4, both wrong can you read that.

    3 is duh winnah👍

Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles & Roy Orbison can easily grade that coin, slam dunk.

There are 3 complete lowball 50 piece sets in the registry. It took me 10 years to complete mine. I'm Also working on the 144 set and need 30 to complete. Braddick was one of the original lowball commem collectors

Yes, and there were seven winners plus one big loser.

Yes, I'm very sensitive as I felt I was accused of being a weasel!

My personal grade for that coin WILL ALWAYS BE A G-4. I'd put that grade into any grading screen at any TPGS.
I ALSO guessed it was in a TPGS slab as a G-6. I never changed my opinion which turned out to be incorrect. I always own up to my errors about anything but misquote me or accuse me of being a weasel and... >:)

Furthermore, I did not bet but if you donated, and will donate again for me after my check clears, send me your address. :)

Grading circulated commemoratives can be all within five grades or so. Wondercoin was kind enough to walk ten PCI worn and graded commemoratives into PCGS for me 15 years ago.
One was a FN12 and wouldn't you know it? PCGS gave it an AU50 grade.
Point being, if you guessed anywhere from AG to G6 on the above commem. you really are not wrong.

While I may agree with this a little, a coin graded AG-3 by our host is not a G-6 as I guessed they graded it. Still licking my wounds. LOL. Off to see Masterpiece Theater! Goodnight all!

  • jedmjedm Posts: 3,172 ✭✭✭✭✭

My first impression on this example was G-6 so i agreed with @Insider2 when I saw that he had guessed the grade as the same...so he was not the ONLY one that was a ways off.
