I picked this up from a Gould titanium pattern collection including some Gould pieces and a blank Gould titanium planchet. The diameter and weight are correct for a cent pattern. I liked it because it is identifiable with the Gould company logo on it.

This might be a bit similar to the Blue Ridge Glass Company logo glass rounds that sold for thousands with the 1942 Liberty Justice patterns.

This went for $39.00 with 2 bidders.

The only thing I see on them is MORT REED 1972 and some are 1973.

I did find this bit of info:
These were designed by and minted for the late Mort Reed. Mort was a world renowned illustrator and columnist for Coin World for many years and wrote several books including the highly acclaimed Odd And Curious. For those who were not around during the 1960s-70s when Reed was most active, his work in Coin World was often similar to Ripley's Believe It Or Notâ„¢, the popular syndicated series seen in the national media. In the 1970s he created the Numistamp series of United States coins reproduced on 2-1/4x1-3/8" plaques that looked like large medallic stamps. The composition of those plaques reflected the coins they bore so that Large cents were produced in copper while the nickel issues were stuck in nickel or a nickel-like material, (the War nickels in silver-like material), etc.

I have been told that those were originally made to be soldered onto money clips. I'm not sure if I believe it entirely, but it sounded plausible.

I do like these! I have a group of them featuring the Flowing Hair and Draped Bust silver coins, and they are worthy tributes to the originals.

This first Roosevelt was a gift to me from, Las Vegas Ted, a while back for imaging up some of his coins. Not at all sure what he paid for it but is some of the most beautiful toning I’ve ever seen.
The 61 Roosevelt I picked up for 2 bucks a long time ago.
Both beautiful and interesting in the way they toned up.

This one is interesting to me, at least. Sackies were my introduction to collecting back in 2000 and I had a little stash of the 2000-Ps. Back then, just the face value of my 20 or so coins was quite a bit of money for ten-year-old me. The US Mint catches a lot of grief here for some of their new issues, but there's no disputing that they create new lifetime collectors, myself included.

I thought it was fitting to pick up a nice certified example for nostalgia's sake.

I have a complete set from 1/2c to $20 gold and with the original albums. Got 'em off ebay several years ago for a very reasonable price. I remember seeing them when they were first offered in the early '70s.

_In 1998 when you bought a subscription to Numismatic News you got one of these "free" not much cheaper than that. Although, you have to put it in a 2x2 for twenty years and wait for a coin forum post like this to display it.
