Ran across a not so common capitol holder

I have not seen this holder in the past
It's a civil war type holder measures 6X8
Has anyone else seen this holder?

    Im leaving for Baltimore in a few hours 4:00 am
    taking a photo of plastic at this time is lower on my list.

    I think this thread was a little premature. ;)

    It's probably an interesting holder but until we can see it I will be left to imagine what it looks like. I hope the real thing is as good as my imagination. :D

    Holder is standard. Coin and what is written on the holder is not so common.

    This is the second (serious) thread from yesterday with no photos to accompany the text. The other one is about all the great looking cents from a vintage roll.

    What is going on here?

    At least the trolls and newbies include pictures of their MD and PMD coins. :D:D

    I posted the thread about looking through rolls of MS cents I acquired as a YN.

    I did not post photos because my photo taking skills are lousy. I will take a few photos later today. If they are any good I will post them.

    In the mean time try imagining what the cents look like, in your mind.😄

    I think I have one of the holders that the OP is taking about but it is in the basement (toms-world) and I can't go down there right now to take a photo, maybe tomorrow.

    From the OP’s original description I can imagine what he’s describing. I’ve only seen one other like that. It’s a custom job. Someone paid capital plastics to make the type of holder they want it. The one I saw was black as well.

    I read a lot of Coin World in the 1980s. People had to rely on text descriptions of objects. It’s a bit of a lost art— everyone seems to want pictures now a days.

    Of course, riding horses into town is a lost art too.

    I have not reported anyone since the recent big frou-frah, but I would appreciate a huge huge huge flag whenever old (very old) threads get resurrected!

    IMHO. most old thread resurrections reflect some rusty axe that somebody wants to grind. Only rarely do I learn anything new.

    It was worth the wait -that's a nice one. Would love to see it filled with nice circulated coins of the era.
