Ran across a not so common capitol holder

I have not seen this holder in the past
It's a civil war type holder measures 6X8
Has anyone else seen this holder?

Im leaving for Baltimore in a few hours 4:00 am
taking a photo of plastic at this time is lower on my list.
Allrighty then
This thread is awesome
Civil war type holder?
What do you mean?
See http://www.doubledimes.com for a free online reference for US twenty-cent pieces
I think this thread was a little premature.
It's probably an interesting holder but until we can see it I will be left to imagine what it looks like. I hope the real thing is as good as my imagination.
Pretty sure I haven't seen one but would like to.
Maybe someday, we all need a dream
I have seen these in fact I can tell you all about them. But I am busy. Maybe in 96 hours I might be able to tell you. But them MAYBE NOT.
Just kidding welcome back!!!

Outside of this screen shot I could find nothing in a few minutes of searching. It is perhaps a custom holder? How many coins does it hold ?

This is amazing
I cannot see a holder there
All I see is empty air
But if a picture should appear
My input will follow, close to here.
Cheers, RickO
ok we have a photo now, interesting holder

Not the original holder asked about, Brian.
Holder is standard. Coin and what is written on the holder is not so common.
I like this tread, you guys are funny.
Pass the popcorn.

This is the second (serious) thread from yesterday with no photos to accompany the text. The other one is about all the great looking cents from a vintage roll.
What is going on here?
At least the trolls and newbies include pictures of their MD and PMD coins.

I posted the thread about looking through rolls of MS cents I acquired as a YN.
I did not post photos because my photo taking skills are lousy. I will take a few photos later today. If they are any good I will post them.
In the mean time try imagining what the cents look like, in your mind.😄
In my mind they are MS69s and 70s. Don't let me down.
P.S. - I guarantee you that if I can take and post a semi-decent photo, anyone can!
I think I have one of the holders that the OP is taking about but it is in the basement (toms-world) and I can't go down there right now to take a photo, maybe tomorrow.
it's crackers to slip a rozzer the dropsy in snide
From the OP’s original description I can imagine what he’s describing. I’ve only seen one other like that. It’s a custom job. Someone paid capital plastics to make the type of holder they want it. The one I saw was black as well.
I read a lot of Coin World in the 1980s. People had to rely on text descriptions of objects. It’s a bit of a lost art— everyone seems to want pictures now a days.
Of course, riding horses into town is a lost art too.
Go dig around in the 2002 threads, I am confidant you will find something!
LOL

Not sure about the lol on that one...
I’m not sure if you are joking with me or attempting to antagonize, jab, or instigate?
After several members went crying to the moderators about my resurrection of old threads, I am uncertain regarding comments like yours.
Confident, not confidant. Confidant is someone with whom you share a secret; I am confident there is no harm in bringing up old threads.

I assumed (hoped?) it was a joke, but it would have been nice to see a little smiley face after it or maybe a winker.

But who knows....
And by the way....if they don't want people ever resurrecting old threads then they should all be auto-closed after a certain period of inactivity.

Here are civil war soldiers at the capital. I guess they are "holding" the building? Is this what you saw?

Of course it was a joke! Here:
What's that you have there, Ptvetter?
You've made our appetite to whetter!
Ancestral slabs? What could be better?
But yet this thread has got no better.
Here's a warning parable for coin collectors...
Nope, never seen it.

I have not reported anyone since the recent big frou-frah, but I would appreciate a huge huge huge flag whenever old (very old) threads get resurrected!
IMHO. most old thread resurrections reflect some rusty axe that somebody wants to grind. Only rarely do I learn anything new.
We better cease until @PTVETTER returns from Baltimore ....... we don't want his post poof'ed do we?
Will you be going to Baltimore too?
I had a smart a$$ comment about this too but I have work in the morning and don't have time to post it.
I will be at the show most of tomorrow then will return on Saturday so maybe I can get a photo then.
He can go to Baltimore...… I'd rather go to Hawaii
I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment
If he goes to Baltimore, does that make him a Balti-moron?
No Baltimore for me. I live and work on the left coast. No time for a coin show on the right coast.
Thank you
Well I tried to take a photo of the civil war era capital holder
It was worth the wait -that's a nice one. Would love to see it filled with nice circulated coins of the era.
