I never realized until seeing them in the same picture that the Large Cent is bigger than the Sacagawea Dollar!

    Very nice coins!

Are those other things newspapers?? Today you need a wingspan of a mosquito to hold a newspaper open. ;)

    Nice post. Interesting.

    Thanks!

This is probably (definitely)not the time or place, but I personally feel very inclined to have discussions with people about topics such as: newspapers, reading the newspaper, how news used to be absorbed vs now, how this has influenced our lives, etc.

Nice....I'd be willing to bet that 90% are listening to music and not absorbing anything.

Not true. In college, I even read while DRIVING! The more things change, the more they stay the same.

I'll take that bet. They'd be wearing headphones if they were listening to music. I think it's funny that my students headphones get bigger as their phones get smaller.

They are probably scrolling through instagram or twitter which is the modern equivalent of a newspaper.

yes times have changed and not always for the best, but change has to happen to have a future, some people are scared of change but there is nothing to fear of change it's good in the long run , as for coins new ideas are being tried to see if they work just all part of the bigger picture

@jmlanzaf.... That is true.. there are a few who read while driving... I have even seen ladies putting on makeup while driving 60 MPH.... However, I really have not seen people walking down the street while holding a newspaper up in front of themselves...I have seen people trip, stumble, fall and bump into light posts while walking and looking at their phones...it really is fun to watch. Cheers, RickO

The people who read the newspaper while walking usually have it folded down to paperback size in their hands. They aren't COMPLETE idiots. LOL

I just realized that I dated myself with "paperback size". LOL. I should have said, they "folded it down to cell phone size".

And you could buy a newspaper with the large cent. You will need a few sacs today for a paper. 7 or 8 for a Sunday New York Times.

@jmlanzaf .... If people are going to be idiots, they should at least strive to be COMPLETE!! After all, as is often said, be the best you can be... :D Cheers, RickO

Yes you did. They probably fold them more to the size of an IPad or tablet. ;)

    Very interesting.

There was a little bit of mixing and matching with the coins (shouldn't the Sac have been in the top row?). Actually, I think you could do three rows of coins for an even greater compare/contrast effect.

    But very thought provoking overall.

I enjoy seeing people obsessed with their smartphones walk into large inanimate objects.

Interesting read and when was the last time you hold a morning newspaper? ;)

Every day @Paradisefound - I know, that makes me in the minority.

I get two! The local daily (generally worthless in content) and the WSJ.
