Recent acquisition. Guess the grade if you care to - it's in a PCGS Rattler.

Successful BST transactions: EagleEye, Christos, Proofmorgan,
Coinlearner, Ahrensdad, Nolawyer, RG, coinlieutenant, Yorkshireman, lordmarcovan, Soldi, masscrew, JimTyler, Relaxn, jclovescoins, justindan, doubleeagle07

Now listen boy, I'm tryin' to teach you sumthin' . . . . that ain't no optical illusion, it only looks like an optical illusion.

My mind reader refuses to charge me. . . . . . .

No clue. It's really hard to judge luster from this photo. Eye appeal is positive and there isn't much in the way of hits, etc. Depending on luster it could be anywhere from MS62 to MS65. I almost want to think there is a bit of rub in the middle of Grant's hair and beard, but it's probably just an incompletely struck planchet.

    1. Toning is nice.

This type is hard to grade because of the dark spots on Grant’s cheek and in his hair. Is it toning or is is a rub? I have seen it go both ways. I’ll go MS-64 on this one, although I know that the toning spots on these coins that would lower the grade on non commemoratives get ignored here because of the original packaging.

I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

I'm guessing MS-65 on this one.

I’m with Kathy on this one. 64 seems about right. I will add that this is one of the few commemoratives I like a lot. Very pretty.

Several hit it on the nose, it's a 65 (with green CAC bean). I won't have it in hand until later this week, but I think the luster is likely to be "all there". Time will tell!

64 after crack might be more accurate!

Rattlers are cool, but some coins remain in them for a reason.

Hope it's nicer in hand than these cartoon images.

I was thinking MS64... but tarnish like that is something that - to me - detracts from the coin. Cheers, RickO

65 doesn't surprise me but I was also thinking either 64 or Gem AU.

Nice coin. I like this design.

    ms 64 :)

Coin just arrived, it is a beauty in hand. Well deserving of the PCGS65/CAC grade. Luster is all there. The Rattler will need a going over with PlastX, it is covered with small scratches & marks.
