I'm not one to share coins that are not mine
However, I felt this was too awesome not to share. Mikes Coin chest recently shared this on their Instagram handle. This would be a dream to own one!!!!!

No problem in showing a nice coin properly credited.

Except it is a sandblast coin not "matte."

Also, the design was revised by George Morgan, so many of the small, but cumulative defects in deFrancisci's original were corrected.

Interesting that the word "GOD" is is emphasized, as it is on 1926 Peace Dollars.

Any not by beating it down with a board. That rumor started because supposedly Morgan liked to beat Charles Barber with a board now and then, and it was thought he missed doing that after Barber died in 1917.

I’ve seen less than a a handful of these. They’re always fun to admire. Too bad they didn’t make enough that they’d be legitimately collectible instead of stupendously expensive. Imagine if it had been realistic for the entire series to actually look like DeFrancisi’s originals. It would have been a stunning instead of just really cool series.

Wow, why can't they all look like that? Yeah I know, nothing is perfect. Peace Roy

Smashing a "galvano" (spellcheck insists the word is "granola") with a board to make the low relief version was another of Breen's lies. Breen's Ignorance is further evident from his referring to a "galvano" which was not used in 1921 for the dollar - a metal cast was used as was normal for nearly all coin and medal reductions of the time.

Beautiful coin....but what's with the spelling of "Hi" ? Is there not enough room on the label for "High?"

Why couldn't they do the same thing with SLQs of the same years?

Could you imagine an SLQ with that surface and strike? Yowzaaaaaaaa!

Smashing granola with a board would probably be more useful than smashing a galvano - spellcheck is no dummy.
