Too many designs to list so denominations are options.

I have been looking at these lately at that local coin store, I like the idea of an eagle on a .05 coin

    Gold

Since you lumped "Gold" into one category, I had not choice but to pick that one. Among the gold pieces, I might like the quarter eagles the most followed cllosely by the half eagles and gold dollars.

In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

    Sorry @BillJones
I began to list all series and denominations and then realized that would take too long and too much space.

    Half

tough choice for me between half dollars and dollars, but I like the size vs value of them compared to dollars, especially in the seated type.

Edited to add: Oh yeah, my avatar is a half that I had, so it must be halves.

I could swear I voted half-dollar, but it's showing up as dollar. Did I have a hanging chad?

    Quarter

I would have chose the double dime had there been an option. But quarters are also pretty cool.

I prefer medium sized coins, quarters and half dollars, half eagles and eagles, half cents, large cents, and i suppose nickels and 2 cent pieces too, but before the copper would be the big coins like dollars and double eagles. Distant last are the tiny trimes, gold dollars and half dimes, my fingers and eyes aren't what they used to be..

I voted for the half dollar but most of my collection is nickels. Go figure.

    Gold

Although I voted gold, I more specifically favor half eagles. Quarter eagles would be a close second. The dime would be my favorite non-gold denomination.

What did ya think I was gonna say, rupees :D . After that it’s 20th century gold.

Voted gold since they were lumped together. Otherwise the Half's would have made it a tough decision.

Gold of all types. I especially like pre-Civil War gold coins because of their history and the Saint -Gaudens double eagle in particular since it is the most attractive US coin ever produced.

Love silver dollars!! Why aren't there more votes for Bullion? Aren't most of the Silver Eagles bullion? Some Gold Eagles are also bullion aren't they? Wouldn't you like a billion in bullion?

Gold... though not a denomination in itself, it is my preferred metal. If sticking to denomination only (as the question is posed), I would say dollar....Cheers, RickO

    Half

Obviously, I like halves best but not just Walkers. I also like seated liberty and capped bust designs.

Next would be dollars, as I like Morgan's and Seated liberty. Also draped bust and flowing hair.

    Then quarters--standing liberty.

And finally Saint Gaudens double eagles.

Sometimes, it’s better to be LUCKY than good. 🍀 🍺👍
